Nice price but likely an awful flight in Coach for 15-17 hrs JFK-IAD.
I’ve flown it many times, you often have a free seat next to you.
Great price but the plane from JFK is very old. It was subpar when I flew in Biz in January, can’t imagine how terrible coach is.
Older planes often have more legroom.
The SAA A340-600 that flies JFK-JNB has 34″ pitch versus as little as 30″ on newer planes like on Air Canada and El Al’s Dreamliner.
Might be the case but no direct aisle access and old school IFE make for a long flight lol
This sale for is coach, not business.
New generation business class is better than old generation business class.
New generation coach class is often worse than old generation coach class.
I flew SAA round trip JFK-JNB in coach, and it wasn’t too bed for a 16 hour flight…I had an empty seat next to me, which was a big plus as well.
Ive literally spent 5 hours today looking for flights to SA for 5 and reading through the forums. This is a great deal but sadly terrible time of year to travel (school, holidays )
take the kids out of school for a week
I have no idea where to find the $690 for DC to Joburg!!!
The website links only goes to the front page…
Any help please?
I flew in couch earlier this year and it wasn’t bad. For me it was one of the better long haul flights that I’ve been on. The food was edible and the service was great.
