United responds to WOW’s entry into the Tel Aviv market! Except that unlike WOW, United provides all passengers with a free checked bag, 2 free carry-ons, frequent flyer miles, kosher meals, drinks, in-flight entertainment, WiFi, and assigned seats.
This S class earns full flown miles if you credit the flight to Singapore. You’ll earn 11,384 Singapore miles round-trip. Non-elites will earn just 2,650 United miles round-trip.

These fares are not on sale with miles, but you can pay for the ticket with “hybrid points” if you have AMEX or Chase points and a Business Platinum or Sapphire Reserve card.
Using AMEX points:
If you have The Enhanced Business Platinum Card® from American Express OPEN you can get a 50% rebate on the airline of your choice.
You can switch airlines by chatting with AMEX, though it will be easier to switch before you have used the $200 airline spending credit that year.
This benefit is being reduced to a 35% rebate on June 1st. However if you open or upgrade to a Business Platinum card by 5/31/17 or if you have opened or upgraded to a Business Platinum card since 10/1/16 you will get a full year of 50% rebates from the date your card was opened or upgraded.
You can login to your account and redeem AMEX points for travel here.
A $616.58 flight will be 61,658 points and you would get a 50% rebate making the effective cost just 30,829 points, a value of 2 cents per point. That includes all taxes and you can still earn miles for flying!
Using Chase points:
If you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve® card you can redeem points for 1.5 cents each towards travel.
A $616.58 flight flight will be 41,105 points. That includes all taxes and you can still earn miles for flying!
You can login to your account and redeem Chase points for travel here.

Are you able to cancel the tickets if you buy it on American Express points
Nothing in August!!! 😤
its about the same price with all star alliance airlines
How do I use Amex Platinum points for this deal? I want the 50% rebate while I can still get it.
@G:
You should have 24 hours.
@Ralph:
Follow the links I added to the post.
Can you help me out ? This is the first time I’m trying this. I have Chase Sapphire Reserve points. I should transfer the points to Singapore Airlines Krisflyer. Then how do I book the United flight ?
@Harold Biller:
No.
Click on the Chase booking link in the post and search for a flight in the Chase portal.
You do not transfer points to book this.
When you go to the gate you can give them a Singapore mileage number to earn 11,384 miles for the flight, but that has nothing to do with booking the ticket.
There are dates in October as well, i tried 10/19- 10/26 NYC – TLV for about 738 and TLV – NYC 616
Any chance outbound dates will be extended through end of December?
Until When can you cancel with UR points? Dan
why is it only from EWR evan with all other airlines? (all other airlines also (s) class)
December 11 already dead
@Harold Biller:
No. You book through Chase using your UR points at 1.5 cents value each because you have CSR. You credit the flights to Singapore Air. Don’t transfer points for tbis deal.
@Dan:
How pricey we talking?
for TLV-EWR RT, best i can do is $740. any luck finding $616 starting in TLV?
if i book with chase miles and i have united explorer – do i pay for baggage ?
what about about of LAX?
@chuchem:
no you never pay for baggage to tlv evan without a cc!
I am finding Chase portal had cheaper prices than Amex
I searched Chase 11/21 – 11/28 for $616 and Amex was $778
i booked with Chase
Looks like BA and LOT have similar pricing with more availability but they have stopovers.
think delta will match?
Is it possible to know about how much it would cost/points to upgrade to business?
@DanR: as i dont have chase points, do you know why amex would be so much more. in the past i’ve found them to match united website price
@Mark: air canada as well
@Jacob:
Doubt it.
@Josh:
24 hours.
@chuchem:
Everyone gets a free bag to TLV.
@updgrade:
Yes, it would be 35K miles plus $600 each way and then you would need to see if you clear the waitlist, otherwise you get a refund of the upgrade fee.
@updgrade: @Dan: $1800 + 70k miles for business is pretty good!
Chase UR also has cancellation period. As I checked out, I lost it.
What is cancellation policy for ticket booked using Sapphire Reserve miles?
Thanks Dan! Booked family of 6! Needed December 10. Flying Lufthansa with a very short layover in Munich. Returning a week later, United direct. $651 a ticket!
If I purchase with chase ur points, are points refundable if I decide to cancel trip?
I love watching the circus!!!!
@jb:
Not sure why could be I was booking three tickets and already had them in my chase cart so when I went to Amex it did not show the 3 tickets available at that price.
I went back to check on Amex and saw they had it the $616 for 1 ticket
THANKS DAN the MAN !! Booked 6 tickets @ 662.00 in DEC !!
I found for passover with LOT. Anyone fly with them?
@Josh: not a lot
@Elie: with AMEX points they let you cancel for 24hrs but refund your points as cash @ 1 cent per point
Thank you
Dan, I see you already responded to someone else that you have 24 hours to cancel a (Sapphire Reserve) mileage ticket. This was also confirmed by the representative I spoke to. Thanks.
I don’t see anything less than $876 on priceline. Am I doing something wrong or its dead?
I was able to book individual tickets at the cheap price but when I wanted to combine or add a child price went up. any advice?
@Shai:
Book the child as an adult, birthdays on tickets are meaningless.
@Theblaide:
You can call ask to get your points back instead.
Thank you @Dan!!!!!! I got 2 tickets!!!
How can I book the ticket ? Should I go United .com and out sample dates and book it?
Thank you Dan!! got 2 tickets
Thanks, Dan! I got 2 tickets for me and my wife, plus a lap seat for my baby using Chase UR points. Dan, I know you encourage people to buy a regular seat for their babies, but I’m a cheapo. Question is, what is chance that I will get a bulkhead seat if I request one from United early enough? Do airlines no longer give bulkhead seats to people travelling with infants because they charge more for those seats? Thanks.
Thanks Dan I booked one ticket Nov / Dec at $ 645
Great price Newark -Tel Aviv connecting flight on
Lufthansa Munich Tel Aviv – Newark non stop
on United. If Delta matches tomorrow kindly post
it. A similar event happened on Cyber Monday weekend
El Al posted on that Sunday a rate of $ 749 but the
lowest rate I was able to get was $ 806. Dans Deals
posted on that Sunday ( Cyber Monday weekend )
wait until tomorrow Monday which actually was
Cyber Monday to see if Delta & United match
& to my amazement yes they did Delta – JFK
United- Newark at $ 749 & since Delta has
only one flight a day that was the price …..
I know it’s labeled Newark to TLV…. anybody find reverse deal (tlv-EWR RT)?
is this Dead?
I just booked for 2 from fll to tlv RT stop in ewr for 542 a ticket greatt price!!!
still a couple of dates in dec., the week before chanuka for a 5 night stay.
I booked a ticket for $615 leaving tues. Dec 4 and returning Sun dec 10.
as of 10:45am today i still see 5 night stays leaving dec 5 and 6.
Why isn’t delta/elal matching the prices?
Dec 11-18 is in the $800’s now
@🙁:
Still alive, but dates are selling out.
@apl:
Airlines don’t always match prices, especially if they feel it’s too low.
@Sam:
Thanks, crossed off 12/11.
no outbound flights in february?
@Dan: This has nothing to do with WOW, It’s a glitch,
I’m a travel agent, and I just spoke with my sales rep. in United, they told me that as long this fare is available, I can sell it, but once the fare expires i should not issue tickets even if I stored the fare.
and BTW, Nov. 13 is old out, Nov. 16 and 23 are only available if you land in Israel Friday 4:20pm, and Nov. 17 and 24 Are Friday.
@Travel agent:
A. You thought it was a glitch and still brought it up with your UA sales rep?
B. United fixes glitches that I post within an hour or 2 tops.
No way this is a glitch. Regardless, it’s set to expire today anyway.
Unless i’m doing this wrong – looks like January is all sold out. Tried on Orbitz and Chase…
@naft:
What exact dates are you searching for?
@Dan: I did not think it was a glitch (I thought it is a response to WOW…), and that’s why I was not afraid to talk about it to my Rep.
@Travel Agent:
Then why are you insisting that this is a glitch?
There’s simply no way a United glitch posted on DD would last this long.
Looking to go from NYC to Israel on the 14th or 15th and return on the 27th
@Dan: That’s what my rep. told me
Dont think so highly of your self DAN that united and everyone is always monitoring your site
@Alex:
LOL. I heard it directly from UA (and several other airline) execs, but OK.
@Dan: The YQ is suppose to be at least $598 and not $250
I was hoping to get WOWair on the way to Israel, spending a day or so checking out iceland, and then a direct flight back from israel to NY on Motzei Shabbos. Family of 6, 2 adults 13, 11, 8, 5.
Leaving Jan 14th or 15th and returning Jan 27th. Any tips? I have about 400k chase. TIA!
@Alex: Dan doesn’t think so highly of himself, he’s just an expert. And btw he’s honestly never wrong when it comes to these things. He’s far from haughty.
@Sam: I agree. Look he nicely he responds to everyone’s comments all the time, even if it’s a dumb one!
@Travel Agent:
Big deal. Same across all of Star Alliance.
Now if it was $0 I’d say it’s a glitch.
@naft:
United requires a round-trip.
@Sam:
@Anonymous:
Very kind words, thanks.
@Dan
I tried round trip. Did you get it to work for those dates?
@naft:
Only the dates in this post will work.
@Dan @travel agent
I agree with @travelagent
Take any date and any fare YQ is always $598.
Any dates still working?
does this work from tlv to ewr
@Ta:
And this was an easy way to drop prices across the board for low season dates.
@Dovid:
Yes
@ij:
No.
TY
Updated again with current valid dates.
can I transfer sapphire points to sapphire reserve ?
@ruben:
Yes.
Is this dead? I’m only finding $876…
Dead..
They corrected the YQ
@elana:
Yup, it’s dead now.
Any ticket you purchase can be cancelled within 24 hours?
@Dan
You still believe it wasn’t a glitch?!
@TA:
I don’t think a glitch would have lasted over 24 hours, but what’s the practical difference?
@dan
No Difference
But i dont think they did it in response to WOW, and they would lower the Base fare not the YQ
IMO….
Jan 13,2018
expedia is making problems
i ordered a ticket and paid with Amex now i got email that price went up to 1100$ i called up united and they confirmed my reservation no need to do nothing , is it confirmed? or expedia can take it away from me
Hey Dan,
This is not really post related. But I was wondering what is the cheapest way to get a ticket for Israel leaving from NYC at the end of June. Are hybrid points best? United?
