Update, 08/21: DEAD. The fuel surcharge has been restored.
The flight is being sold by Virgin Atlantic but it’s actually on USAirways.
The actual ticket itself is just $242! The rest are mostly the mandatory UK departure tax ($156) that applies to all LHR flights and other government taxes.
Virgin normally adds a fuel surcharge, though there is none on this ticket. This makes for a discount of about $430 compared to similar flights from NYC, about a 2 hour drive away.
This appears to be valid for departure starting 10/22 through 03/13
The cheapest departure days are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and the cheapest return days are on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Seats are of course limited.
Check the Orbitz box to search “3 days before and after” to help find valid dates.

Also, do i get 24 hours to cancel?
How can i go to Israel with this?
@Anonymous:
Do you get tweets for every other deal?
@Anonymous:
Until 11pm tomorrow with Orbitz.
@josh:
There are cheap carriers from Europe, though probably not from LHR.
You can also use about 40K miles for a round-trip flight LHR-TLV.
Thanks.
Link doesn’t work.
Dates that worked for me 3/6-3/14 with Orbitz.com.
And you can continue to TLV for another $370 on those dates on Kayak.com.
Thanks Dan!
@josh: Easyjet has pretty cheap flights from Luton airport to TLV
@Eli:
Looks like it’s about $250 from LTN-TLV round-trip with easyjet with no bags or $290 with a bag.
@Dan, Stop copy pasting stuff from other websites. Crazy bloggers… 😡
@jinger:
I wrote exactly where I saw the deal posted.
Curiosity, what would have been the best credit card to book this on?
@Josh:
AMEX PRG earns 3 AMEX MR points per dollar.
Sapphire Preferred earns 2.14 Chase UR points per dollar.
Can’t earn united miles with this can you?
@Sarah:
A good question.
Anyone familiar with this situation (Virgin codeshare)? If you submit the US boarding pass will United accept it for miles?
do u know if u can get this tickit (price) going to phildelphia from london and back ?
Is there a shuttle from LHR to LTN ? How far is it? Easy to transfer? ( I’m looking to go to Israel)
Hooray! We’re going to London for a little pre-Christmas cheer!

@jinger:
Bug off Dan is the king and best guy out there
I have a issue, need to book for an unborn, called orbitz, they must have a first and last name DOB they can waive, any suggestions?
@Dave:
I would give the first name of “baby” along with your last name and work it out with the airline afterward. I’ve heard of that working for people.
Any deal to Paris France for soukott???
What does HT: stand for ?
Took some tries to get a flight but finally got one! Thanks for the post Dan! 🙂 First trip to Europe here I come! 🙂
@A:
Hat tip. (I.E. Thanks)
@Jonathan:
I’m not sure if London really counts as a trip to Europe, it’s not exactly Paris, Rome or Venice, but enjoy it nonetheless at this great price!
Has anyone got seats confirmed yet? I bought 3 tickets and only one of them has confirmed seats. I saw someone on Flyertalk had Orbitz contact them and said their card wouldn’t be charged because there was no availability and the tickets were cancelled. I’m considering buying Eurostar tickets soon to head to Paris, so I don’t want to have to eat the cost of them. How do I know when this is official?
I know your link above says tickets can be cancelled for free by 11PM ET day after purchase however is there a place on orbitz where it actually says that? I’m seeing that one of the clauses just before I book says “This ticket is non-refundable.” Just want to make sure… thanks!
THANKS DAN!!
Is it dead ? when u click on the +-3 days link it gives u a $872 price ! am i missing something?
pretty sure deal is dead, at least got one booking in!
Will they respect the tickets purchased?
Dan your are great bought a whole lot of tickets, Thanks, a lot of “yidish gelt” was saved for trips to a chasuna in Jan iy”h.
this morning about 10:30 when it was finishing i tried from NYC – LHR and came up with virgin $435, when I tried booking came up the error that its not available at that price, was just wondering if anyone else got a flight from NYC or was it because I had 2 screens open on Orbitz?
HOW TO GET SEATS:
I called Virgin Atlantic, they were not helpful. US Air was wonderful (the flight are USAir, purchased through Virgin). If you give them the flight dates/times you are on (flight nos. are different), they can pull up your reservation, give you the USAir confirmation number (different from Virgin) are give you seat assignments. 1-800-428-4322
you can use your confirmation number and login to US Airways and assign seats
@CW:
I CALLED THEM & THEY VERIFIED 11PM CANCEL NO PENALTY
@JOL: MY CC WAS CHARGED
@JOL-
No. The confirmation numbers are different. But US Air will have you in their system (by name), and will tell you what the USAir reservation confirmation number is. You can also add a USAir FF number to your reservation.
I was also able to login to my US Airways account and use the VA record locator from Orbitz and it pulled up the reservation for me so I could change seats. It’s a different confirmation # for US Airways, but for some reason it was able to pull it up with my VA record locator.
thanks dan! tickets booked!
@David:
I used the virgin conf # on USairways.com and was able to access reservation and include seat assignment.
@JOL:
Good to know! USAir told me otherwise.
