Does anyone know if there’s an expiration date for this deal?
this is only from miami ?
if i want to take the flight from paris thats cheaper?
if im platinum is it double miles and can i use a evip?
Hi Dan,
How do you arrange the stopovers if booking through Orbitz?
Hey
Im trying to book this and i cant find it…
My dates are August 17th (flexible) to September 5th…
i am not sure how to book this. i tried thru orbits – it didnt give me the aa – malev connection with this price. it was around double.
can anyone help?
Dan, is there a way to get this sort of price from NYC?
The cheapest connection that I have found from NY to Miami is around 206 from AA.
@Dov:
When they feel like it.
@mendel:
Only from Miami as far as I can tell.
@c:
Yes, you will get double miles for platinum. You can use a eVip systemwide upgrade for the flights that are on AA aircraft.
@Marc:
Multi-city search forcing the connections that you want.
@chani:
It still works for the dates I posted. There is a method to search for more dates, but it’s a fairly complicated process.
@bob:
Did you try the dates I posted? It won’t work for every date, although there are others it will work for…
@Other Dan:
No. You can always wait and book the NYC-MIA portion later when there’s a sale if you want.
There
it only works on those exact dates? meaning one way on the 26 and the return on the fourth?
I dont mind complicated…if its explained to me 🙂

@chani:
Here is a tutorial for finding other dates that work:
http://www.dansdeals.com/forums/index.php?topic=2717.msg28452#msg28452
You need to be quite flexible to find valid dates, it’s especially difficult before before November.
Enjoy and good luck!
I just went there, im looking to go mid august so I guess this deal isnt going to work for me bec it starts in september.
thanks anyway
I have 125k AA Miles. Is it enough for an off peak flight for my wife and I to Israel?
It only leaves from Miami? Where in Miami?
This is very complicated! And i cant seem to make it work!
hesitated for a second, and now its gone. Grrrr.
I want to leave from Miami beginning of October, 2010 and stay for at least 3 wks. Is there anything available and what’s the price for one traveler? Is it possible to have just one stop over?
@BSW:
No, you need at least 160K on AA.
@Cmg:
Probably not American Airlines Arena (of the classless backstabbing egotistical LeTraitors)
@Cmg:
Works fine for the dates I posted. If you’re brave you can try the instructions I posted in an earlier comment to find other dates.
@Shira:
Still there for $587 when I checked just now for the first date I posted.
@Risa:
2 connections are required. Instructions are above.

So where shall the flight be leaving from?
I feel some negative HEAT from the Cleveland crowd here. I am sorry your big guy didnt work out this year. I am not a fan of the big guy, but I sure like the HEAT 🙂
any way to choose other stopover besides for paris and budapest prefrablly south france or switzerland
would this ticket be upgradeable to business/first with aa miles… if so, any idea how much?
Booked three tickets for january.
worked like a charm as described. lets see if they cancel because of price error. never heard of malev before and hope all is well maintained on them. we booked 1/19/11- 1/30/11
great stuff dan. thanks bye the way, do you think there is any way to upgrade after purchase
I answered my own question for instance if you want to go to paris for a few days instead of just the stop make it multi segment and search by dates you already found for the going and returning and put the dates you’d like to stay in i.g cdg into ITA
These tickets can be upgraded in 2 ways.
1. EVIP, a system wide upgrade. They are earned by top-tier members only but can be shared so if you know someone that’s willing to give one to you, you’re in luck.
It is valid only on AA metal and only upgrades one way.
2. AA now allows even discount economy to use miles to upgrade but there is a co-pay. North America-Europe is 25k miles+$350. Again, that is one way.
AA upgrade award chart: http://www.aa.com/pubcontent/en_US/disclaimers/one-way-upgrade-chart.jsp
This is not working!! Can you post like the link of step by step….?
These tickets are not upgradeable, i booked called executive platinum and they wont even give me seats. It is a codeshare and EVIP’s do not work on condeshares – you will not get double miles for being platinum either thats is only with a select group of one world partners and Malev isnt one of them.
The same would be concerning miles.
@cg:
It works just fine with the dates posted. What do you need help with?
@chaim:
From what I understand you are able to use eVips on the AA portion (To/from MAD or CDG in this case).
Try calling again.
It does appear like there’s no platinum/exp bonus on Malev though.

is this deal dead?
@Ben:
Nice!
@chaim:
Send me am email.
@shira:
It looks like it was killed this morning.
With deals like this, how is it possible to make your stopovers longer in certain cities without it costing more?
i think orbitz stopped the deal – i just did exact dates and its double! not only that, but the site doesn’t even reference malev airlines at all now!
