Update, 11/10: I’ve heard from a few readers that the El Al segments of their itinerary were cancelled. If you booked this deal be sure to call the website where you booked to have those flights reconfirmed. Be sure to ask for a manager if you have any problems.
Those readers were able to be reaccomodated, but if you’ve tried calling several times to no avail you can also file a complaint to the DoT against the booking website you used and El Al by clicking here. The DoT is excellent at getting you in touch with the right people to get things fixed.
Update: DEAD!

Why are you first posting this now? This deal was around for hours. (If it’s to give people time to book before it gets posted and killed, much appreciated!) Not criticizing, just curious.
Dos this work from tlv ?
@Philip, the price quoted on Orbitz is USD.
how do you get from NYC to Toronto for 9000 avios? when i go to AA all I see are flights for 12,500 each way.
any connecting flights to New York?
@CHAIM: using ba avios
Great questions. It’s impressive that some can turn on their computers altogether.
@Osborne Greene: How rude of you. I got from NYC for under $300 nonstop, and Dan gets in J or F for almost free, does that mean we should insult you? Everyone according to their level.
@Arnold: How do you get from NYC for under $300? I realize I am not on your ‘level’ but you can help me get there!
We just booked three tickets from January 20 to February 3.
Thank you so much!
is it elal or klm
@AP:
Fuel dumping, there’s a DDF thread on it.

@shmuel:
No, unless you have an AA credit card (I think) or Oneworld elite status. For only 9k Avios each way though, you can get 3 70 lb bags in business.
the lowest price i’m finding from TLV to YYZ is 562$ (example JAN 19), is this side of the deal over?
and no available dates at this price in DEC 2015.
also from Toronto is up a bit from 436$.
from Montreal this means two stops!

Just booked my first Dan’s Deal flight! Leaving Feb 23 and returning Mar 7. Thank you Dan!
Dan,
Thanks a million. Just got a flight for my wife and I the 3rd week of November for the cost of one ticket!
Does it also work tlv to toronto?
@webs:
Have you even bothered reading? Of course not!
Hi I have to know if I can go by Amsterdam. I can not come with staff..
And what about return? ? It’s very cheap. . I’m anyway go to holand..
@Dan:
you’re going public about it now.
the trick it thread has flights for about 600 last i checked
Booked five tickets last night for the fam, total was less than $2,000 (I think it was $391 per ticket). Thanks Dan!
Sorry, tried to book it and not able to find it. Help!
hi dan! please try to found us (israeli members) cheap flights from tlv..
תודה רבה!
I see tickets from TLV to JFK for $549.. seems like a sweet deal too! 3/1 – 3/13 and I am sure other combinations as well. Orbitz.
Hi, is this deal steal relevant? I can only find the deal now for 600 and change.
ElAl isn’t honoring any of the tickets. Ha ha.
Got my confirmation as soon as I booked for family of 5. Chose seats on KLM from Toronto to Amsterdam and the El Al leg rountrip from Amsterdam to Tel Aviv. Now I see the El Al flights have been cancelled. Does anyone know if Orbitz has to honor the tickets?
@Toronto guy: I called Cheapoair and after a while they were able to reconfirm me on that flight. I think this thread should be re-posted with a warning to check the ELAL portion of the tkt and make sure to get it confirmed. I think all the TKTs have the same problem
@oychaval thanks for that info. I called the site I booked with and they said there’s nothing that can be done. Did Cheapo Air call El Al? When did this all happen?
@Oychaval: thanks for that info. I called the site I booked with and they said there’s nothing that can be done. Did Cheapo Air call El Al? When did this all happen?
@Toronto guy: cheapoair themselves did the rebooking
All the Elal portions of the flight have been cancelled , you need to call and reconfirm.
I am not a pro at Dans Deals, and don’t really know how to post anywhere else, (Dan, perhaps you can put this in the right place!) so I apologize if this is not appropriate, but I do think it’s probably important to let the oilam know that they should be very careful with the Orbitz $431.95 tickets to Israel that were available around October 21st thru a linky on Dans Deals.
As a professional B’nei Torah family, we do not do much airline travelling (other than Avios, of course!), and so have not been to EY for appox. 30 years.
But my son had a third child, and a bris was coming up, and he asked me to be kvatter…..so when I heard about this deal, I jumped. I bought a ticket for 700.00 for October, as the deal wasn’t available yet, and I bought the deal for my wife to come help for two weeks in November.
Perhaps I should have “chappedâ€, when, a few days before, I could not reserve Kosher meals on the flights (KLM YYZ-AMS; El Al AMS-TLV). But I called Delta, and they reassured me many times over that, even though ElAl was spitting out that the flight was “waitlistedâ€, that was meaningless, and the flights were totally confirmed. As a naive traveller, I believed the super-confident agent!
I’m sure you can guess the rest of the story….no boarding pass could be issued at YYZ for AMS-TLV, although the KLM agent did not really think this was a problem…but I did. I wasn’t going to let my wife be stranded in AMS for 12 days!
To make a four-hour-long-cell-phone-call-to-Orbitz.com-while-hugging-a-pillar-in-the-airport-to-keep-my-cell-plugged-in-and-having-calls-dropped-and-having-to-start-all-over-three-times-etc. story short, of course, in the end, they issued a new ticket (for four days later) and, hopefully, we live happily ever after.
Rabboisai! Check your tickets immediately with the airline and get to work with Orbitz customer service (who will not give you a direct phone number so you won’t be able to continue the conversation with the same agent,and who will likely not be able to find the right replacement flight on their own…)!!!!!!
Just received a flight change from orbitz They moved us to different flights that are actually better than the original flights purchased last month.
Just a question: What does these tickets have to do with the US DoT? The flight don’t touch US soil
@Yitz:
Orbitz and Priceline are based in the US and are under DoT jurisdiction.
Also some people who bought tickets may have American citizenship. Either way, the DoT has great contacts and should help you out.
delta is showing $600 from yyz to tlv with a stop . not bad either..jan 27 thru feb 3
Shelley Did you call them to change the flights or they just e mailed you the new itinerary
@Shelley: Shelley Did you call them to change the flights or they just e mailed you the new itinerary
@dan I got rebooked automatically by orbitz I didn’t like the flights I called up delta and got rebooked threw jfk 😀😀😀
My tkt was canceled for the 3rd time and this time they finally re-booked me via jfk then direct on delta. I did it by calling Delta directly.
Got the tickets for my parents yyz-tlv. orbitz rebooked them different flights through france. anyone have any luck changing the dates
@AP: take tam
Is the deal still alive ? I tried looking for yyz – tlv Jan 14 – 24 and it’s showing me the cost of $672.14 usd ??
Hey Dan,
Did you hear about the lawsuit that was filed by has advantage credit cards vs. Elal? It seems like the truth is coming out about elal.
Thank you for posting that the booking site tries to accommodate Toronto Tel Aviv flight changes. We were changed to Air France via Paris to Tel Aviv. They said they were unable to rebook us on El Al but they gave us the option for full refund, which we took.
Those who got fare booked direct through jfk-tlv deta…how did you convince delta…they keep telling me….why should we change your routing (jfk vs. yyz) as that has nothing to do with the ticket change.
After trying to get delta to change my flight via JFK, they contacted ELAL and confirmed me for all of my original flights, and so no changes are being made.
Hi,
I had a similar situation with my tickets, like the stories mentioned above, and I too was re-booked on Air France, plus they added an extra city. So instead of Toronto-Amsterdam-Tel aviv, I got Toronto-Montreal-Paris-Tel Aviv. I live in Montreal, which makes is super inconvenient to travel to Toronto, only to fly back to Montreal and then to Paris etc.
Why were some of you successful in getting the Delta flight, while I was re-booked on Air France. I prefer going through NY cuz a) it’s cheaper to fly there b) the food is better I think. I told Orbitz I wanted Delta and they just flat out refused.
My question to you, @Dan, and to other experienced travelers out there:
1) Is there any recourse I have, other than cancelling the ticket altogether?
2) What are the chances that they would let me board the flight in Montreal, even though Air France tells me it’s not an option
