Palm Springs is a 90 minute drive to Disneyland, a 2 hour drive from Los Angeles or San Diego, a 4 hour drive from Las Vegas, or a 6 hour drive from the Grand Canyon.
There are wonderful homes you can rent in Palm Springs with private pools on sites like Airbnb and VRBO, including many within walking distance of Chabad in Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage. There are also several great Hyatt, SPG, and other point hotels.
In 2010 and in 2012 I reviewed renting a house and making Pesach in Palm Springs. Rabbi Denebeim runs a wonderful Chabad House and Palm Springs is surrounded by beautiful mountains and has lots of activities including a Thursday evening street fair, an aerial tramway, an air museum, Joshua Tree National Park, casinos, and a large outlet mall.

@Chase lover:
Not for the $65 dates.
@Mike:
You will pay the difference in price, only the refund and change fees are waived.
