- Bookable on Orbitz or Expedia. Tickets purchased today are refundable until tomorrow at 11:59pm PT. Or bookable on Priceline or direct from the airline.
- Limited seats are available on each date.
- Always search one-way for 1 seat and then work the search up to the number of seats you need in order to book as many seats on sale as you can.
- Note that not all fares are available on all airlines listed on all dates!
- Use a card like Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card, or Sapphire Reserve to earn 2-3 Chase points per dollar spent and get free trip cancellation/interruption insurance, travel accident insurance, luggage insurance, trip and luggage delay protection, and more!
- You can buy extra seats if you want to guarantee empty seats next to you by making the first name of the ticket EXTRASEAT with your last name. You’ll even get double your baggage allowance!
- Some fares are basic economy, but having a credit card for airline cards waive many basic economy restrictions. For example if you pay with your Chase United Explorer card or Chase United Business Card you can bring a free carry-on, a free checked bag, and have priority boarding. With the Chase United Quest or United Club Infinite Card you’ll get 2 free checked bags.
- The DOT has directed airlines to provide seat assignments for kids 13 and under next to their parents without charge, even on basic economy tickets.

1) I couldn’t find any flight for decent amount with points… I personally looked up august 20-25. Any advice on that?
2) I found the same tickets for $159 round trip with Spirit. Is it 24hr free cancelation via Expedia or will Spirit charge me?
In regards to the above, right before clicking “complete booking” it says the terms and says “pay to choose seat… pay to cancel etc.”
That is what is referred to as Basic Economy. You also do not get a carry-on or checked bag. (You do get a personal bag.) And you board last.
If you are traveling with a child under 12, they should automatically assign you seats next to each other. They are required by law to refund you if you cancel within 24 hours.
If you pay for at least part of the flight with a United co-branded card, you might be able to still get free checked bags, priority boarding, etc. Please refer to Dan’s (many, many, many) posts on the topic.
Otherwise, you can pay a few dollars more for a regular Economy seat and get some of the above items.
what’s to do in puerto rico – do you have a trip report/notes?
Did you see a link to info on this ? I feel like there was a link above and now I can’t find it at all
Is this deal still on going? I’ve attempted to book and the prices posted don’t reflect that amount.. did I possibly not possibly post an added code somewhere?is the 73$ rate per way?
