JetBlue founder David Neeleman’s Breeze Airways is continuing its rapid growth in previously underserved markets.

Last week the airline announced new service to Newark, Daytona Beach, South Bend, Erie, PA, and Wilmington, NC.

Today, Breeze announced they would begin service from Tweed New Haven Airport (HVN) on 12/10. The airline will face off against Avelo, which has seen great success with its New Haven flights.

Intro rates are available on the new routes until 8/19 or while seats last:

From New Haven, CT to:
  • Fort Myers, FL (Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, and Sat, starting December 10, from $69* one way);
  • Orlando, FL (Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sat, and Sun, starting December 11, Daily starting February 5, 2025, from $59* one way);
  • West Palm Beach, FL (Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sat, and Sun, starting December 11, from $69* one way);
  • Vero Beach, FL (Mondays and Fridays, starting December 13, from $69* one way);
  • Charleston, SC (Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, starting February 6, 2025, from $49* one way);
  • Jacksonville, FL (Thursdays and Sundays, starting February 6, 2025, from $59* one way);
  • Norfolk, VA (Thursdays and Sundays, starting February 6, 2025, from $49* one way);

  • Raleigh-Durham, NC (Mondays and Fridays, starting February 7, 2025, from $49* one way);
  • Sarasota/Bradenton, FL (Mondays and Fridays, starting February 7, 2025, from $69* one way); and
  • New Orleans, LA (Thursdays and Sundays, one stop/no change of plane BreezeThru service starting February 6, 2025).

Breeze says that it is in the final stages of securing the necessary certification to begin flying internationally. It intends to begin selling flights to international destinations before the end of the year.

In the coming months, the airline will fly an all A220 fleet. You can find a list of routes served here.

I recently flew Breeze in first class and was blown away by the experience. I hope to write about that in the future.

The airline’s spacious A220s feature first class seats, called “Nicest” seating, in a two-by-two configuration at the front of the plane, “Nicer” extra legroom seats, and “Nice” seats in a two-by-three seat configuration, which means fewer middle seats than on other airlines. First class seats feature a whopping 39″ of seat pitch and 20.5″ wide seats and a footrest.

Family seating is free on all fares.

Breeze flights can be canceled up to 15 minutes before departure at no charge, with the funds valid for 2 years.

You can download the Breeze app for iOS or Android, signup for an account, and instantly get 500 BreezePoints, worth $5 for airfare.

Of course, as with airlines like Allegiant, Frontier, and Spirit, you can save even more by purchasing flights at the airport. Officially that’s only available on Tuesdays between 11am-1pm, though some readers have said that it also works on other days.

How much will you save?

Just click on “taxes and carrier fees” on that same checkout page. The carrier fee will be waived if you buy the flight at the airport, but that fee can vary by a lot, based on the route and date. I have seen them range from $10 to $90 on Breeze.

A breeze

I flew for the first time on breeze a few weeks ago and it was a very pleasant experience.
