Deal guy

This makes me think a NYC-TLV deal is coming up…

Btw, what’s the policy for baby’s under 2 for United?

Joe

is possible to go straight from jfk? or ewr

maya

I don’t get the part about earning miles for flying while paying with points below. Can somebody clarify?

A $628.78 flight will be 41,918 points. That includes all taxes and you still earn miles for flying.

Florida

I am not finding 700 for other flights from MIA in january…is it only 700 for 1/29-2/8, 2/27-3/8

Dan

@Deal guy:
10% of fare.

@Joe:
No.
Though you can get off there on the return.

@maya:
You earn miles when you pay with AMEX or Chase points.

@Florida:

Deal Guy

@Dan:

2 questions… 10% of fare means one $600 flight, you’d pay $60 for the baby? Same policy for delta and do they get their own seat?

As per getting off the plane in NYC, don’t they automatically transfer the luggage onto the connecting flight? How would you get your luggage?

NYC

If I live right by JFK and I book the Chicago with stopover in JFK can I just skip my Chicago leg and check bags and board in JFK for a direct for 31k Biz Plat

anonymous

@deal guy
when you fly international and back into the USA you have to claim your luggage and go through customs and then recheck your bags. so you just dont recheck your bags.

@nyc
if you miss the first leg then the rest of your ticket gets cancelled

@anonymous:
Why that’s ridiculous?

@Dan

can you please help me with 6 tickets from ny to israel for pesach. im looking for a week before pesach until 2 days after pesach. i want non stop.
where should i email you names, birthdays, credit card number? do you need anything else?
would you mind using your own points to upgrade my family to business class and maybe a stay in the waldorf astoria? TIA

Do you want him to babysit your kids while he is at it.

I think Dan has better things to do than plan and pay for your pesach vacation

@anonymous:

Even on a connecting Domestic flight? You first Check your bags in the first US based city for example?

Also, at customs do they ask you anything about your connecting flight?

Anonymous

@Danr:

What part of that didn’t you detect was sarcasm? 🙂

Dan

@Anonymous:
You always pick up your bags at customs when flying to the US, walk your bags past customs, and then you can recheck them if you want to.

Customs could not care less.

Anonymous

@Dan:

What if your connection is within an hour or so of the flight?

I’ve never done this before.

For someone who would go from TLV-JFK-BOS

Plane lands in JFK at 1:00 PM and connecting flight is at 2:30.

How do you recheck bags? You go back to the front of the airport like its a brand new flight to check in bags?

Dan

@Anonymous:
Usually there is a dropoff conveyor belt after you clear customs where you just drop the bag if you want to continue on the journey.

90 minutes is fine.

Anonymous

@Dan: thanks for the info.

You’re awesome!!!

Yakov Fradkin

Under $700 Chicago Midway to Tel Aviv fares are available for Passover. I found mine on Google flights, booked (as properly instructed by Google) via phone; same rate was not available anywhere online.

Yakov

@Dan: @Dan: How likely do you think Delta may accommodate a customer request to remove the Chicago to JFK leg from the already-bought Chicago to Tel Aviv via JFK ticket? Making it a JFK to Tel Aviv ticket for the price of Chicago to Tel Aviv via JFK?

david

@ Yakov
do not be stubborn. no chances at all! ORD TLV is totally different than JFK TLV and that’s why it is priced differently

ec

@dan are chase point tickets refundable?
