ANA and United have some amazing fares to Cambodia. I flew ANA last year and was blown away by the airline’s service.
Flights connect in Tokyo and some flights have a long connection time, but that’s perfect if you want to get a taste of Japan. Thanks to amazing public transportation you can easily zip around Tokyo.
There is a Chabad House in Phnom Penh with a restaurant. Most Chabad Houses in Asia subsidize their food offerings so that Israeli backpackers will eat kosher on the road, so be sure to leave a nice donation if you use their services.
There is an Intercontinental Phnom Penh that was on the current PointBreaks list for just 5K points, but it has already sold out of PointBreaks rooms. Still, it’s only 25K IHG points per night.

Chabad in PNH is awesome. I was there when they were in their old building. Now they only got better. They recently moved into a purpose built brand new building only a few months ago.
@MeirS:
Nice, have a trip report?
I used to live there. The Chabad couple are the nicest people on earth.
ANA is an amazing airline. Flew 1st RT from JFK to NRT in February to ski in Hakkido for a few days with my chevra. Simply amazing service. 150k points for the flight.
Anyone know the actual United mileage accrual in economy, and in business, on this ANA flight?
@Joetraveler:
For economy it is 25%.
Can I book this on Tisha b’av? I don’t want to wait and miss this amazing deal…
Hi all…
First, Thank you Dan for your introduction. Yes, our meals are heavily subsidized so non-yet-kosher backpackers would also prefer our chumus over what’s outside. You can get a full meal (like Schnitzel, rice and Salad) for $6. Please come and take advantage 🙂
Thank you MeirS & Bethany for your complements!
Now for those who are coming, assuming that you are not Shleping 2 suitcases of your own, please let me know if you can bring one piece of luggage for us. I can arrange a delivery to your home on the day of your flight (or give you a grocery list if your prefer). Our kids will be so happy!
