Got the following email from cheapoair:

Dear

Ref: Your Recent Air Tickets Booking #XXXXXXXX

We regret to inform you that the fare you selected for the booking referenced above was misfiled by Air Canada. The airline has informed us that they are unable to honor the misfiled fare and accept your booking.

As a result, we have no choice but to cancel your reservation and credit all amounts, if any, that you were charged for this booking back to your original form of payment.

As always in such cases of airline error we are available 24/7 at 800-566-2345 to assist you in finding acceptable alternate flight options that meet your needs. If you call, please make reference to the above eight digit Air Tickets Booking number.

Did you have a ticket number?

If you did you should definitely file a DoT complaint here: http://airconsumer.dot.gov/escomplaint/ConsumerForm.cfm

And be sure to reference the Air Canada tweet showing that they’re honoring the deal.

I do not have a ticket number. An Air Canada rep said that this usually takes 2 days with Cheapoair.

Also, the tweet from Air Canada says they will honor it if it was booked online or with their call center. I believe they mean that it will be honored if booked only from their website.

Was there a problem with your credit card?

Either way, file the DoT complaint and see where it goes.

The charge is pending on my credit card from Air Canada, I hope it goes through soon so I can get ticketed.

I had the tickets in my cart and input my credit card info, but when I clicked to confirm the purchase it processed for 2 minutes before saying that the flight was sold out, and then the deal was dead. Any chance I can get the tickets? I believe that with the cheap delta tickets in December 2013 they even honored cancelled tickets. What do you think would be the best approach to take?

Was able to book directly through AirCanada.com within 5 min of the first tweet. Thank you!! Otherwise buying 6 tix even in the off-season is beyond our reach.

Thanks. Got 6 tickets for pesach on cheapoair. Not as cheap as advertised but for peak dates for this airline i paid $570 each so I’m still happy.

Dan – i noticed you asked jake if there was a problem with your credit card? I actually booked tickets and they had to do further verification with the credit card and they said they wouldn’t be able to get the lower price. I ended up canceling for a different reason but I’m just curious do you think I would have been able to get the lower price if I hocked around?

Call air canada and have them add the lap infant over the phone.

@YYZ fan: interesting… cheapoair charged me $142 as AC told me to contact cheapoair directly.

My charge was pending yesterday and now is NOT on my CC statement. Probably either a terrible sign or the luckiest free trip to Europe ever.

Booked using Air Canada website. Didn’t think it was a glitch just a sweet promo (WOW has 100 dollar tix to europe).

I will update if it gets canceled but will be calling Air Canada to complain if thats the case.
