Yeshiva University’s academic excellence, Torah scholarship, graduate employment record, and commitment to affordability deliver remarkable value to students and parents alike. In 2014, YU was ranked as a “Best Value College” by both U.S. News & World Report and Kiplinger’s.
Last year, more than $47 million in scholarships were awarded. Eight out of ten undergraduate students receive scholarship. Our dedicated staff will be on hand to come up with a plan that works for you.

I guess $50,000 a year in tuition is affordable nowadays.
Welcome to the 21st century, YU.
really?
If you’d be able to pay your tuition with a credit card, you’d be able to spend the summer travelling the world in first class
@yossi:
That’s what scholarships are for!
@Meshugana:
Nothing wrong with a real education…
@SYM:
There are always ways to do that for those determined to find them.
Are there scholarships for graduate programs too?
@Dan:
What’s the average scholarship (percentage-wise)?
It’s different for each student. They seem to work with families to make are they can afford it but it doesn’t mean the kid won’t need to take loans. Most graduates get very good jobs and have no trouble paying the loans also it builds their credit.
I know it’s a good school for pre med, accounting and finance. Sterns too
what can a family with very low income expect for undergrad at stern, child grades 86 range. can they afford YU or would need to go to CUNY? Would love Stern, doesnt make sense to take loans for undergrad. Thank you
I have a degree in accounting and married. Dodging a busy schedule. I am earning now about 60k a year. I want to go for a masters in taxation, or maybe forwa tax law degree. Do they have a good tax department? Will I quli for scholarships with 60k income? Will I be able to do it in night classes so as not to interfere with my work schedule? Any input will be greatly appreciated
I @AsherO: It all depends on the families situation. Some families pay less than $10,000 if they chose not to dorm.
@Yeshiva Student: @yossi: I would like to thank Yossi for “being that guy.” Why not give YU a chance. Why must you take this approach of negativity. I feel bad for you that you feel it is so important for you to put things down. I hope your life improves and you decide to take a more optimistic approach. Yeshiva University is an incredible place where only 20% of students pay full tuition. The reason official tuition is $50,000 a year is so the 1/5 of people who can afford it will subsidize the students who cannot. But, it’s more fun to make fun of great things hide your insecurities, whatever they may be.
Hi Everyone,
We published the advertisement above to serve as a “friendly reminder” that we are one of the best colleges out there for frum students to study at. Come to our Open Houses so that you can see for yourself how amazing our university is! Women’s open house is this sunday and men’s open house is on Sunday, November 23rd. YU is one of the only places where you can receive a top 50 education and at the same time, continue your Jewish studies and continue learning in a Jewish Environment. Plus, 90% of our students reported last year that they were in a job or in a graduate school within six months of graduating. We are worth the investment and worth all the miles that you will get when paying for tuition with your credit card!
For all questions about scholarships, please call our office of student finance at 212-960-5399 or email them at studentaid@yu.edu to get them answered. For questions about admissions, please email us at yuadmit@yu.edu and put the subject as dansdeals on the email. We want to hear from you and we want to work out the scholarship for you and for your family.
Best,
YU Admissions
PS – Thank you @dan and thank you @Yeshiva Student for sticking up on our behalf!
Gee… I didn’t know this website catered towards Jewish people… 🙂
And dont forget to check out Yeshiva University’s AWESOME law school- Cardozo School of Law!!!
@Yeshiva U. Admissions: I’m not aware of any YU accepting credit cards as a form of payment for tuition. As a current student I’d really love to know how I can pay my tuition via credit cards, without any ridiculous fees.
Didn’t pay a dime for my YU education and it was worth every penny. Also made a wonderful ROI with my post-YU job.
they should make a program for chabad so we can get a degree/education but have a shir and sedarim. It’s not always good to be at plain college even Brooklyn but we also want more of education and job networks than Touro. there are not a lot of options – for a program and YU has a lot (many of our parents went to a regular college!!!) . A lot of bochrim think they want to work but they dont want to open their own business or just want to know biology and math.
@yy:
With an 86 GPA, don’t expect to see any academic scholarship. However, a low income family should get full scholarship, which means everything is free besides for room and board: ~$10K
I don’t see why it’s crazy at all to take out loans for undergrad. I know a lot of people who did and don’t regret doing so.
@Anonymous:
They only have 1 accounting masters program and it’s not tax. Not sure about scholarships for graduate programs.
@Yeshiva U. Admissions:
I graduated 2 years ago, and during my time, the option to pay tuition with a CC was done away with. Perhaps that’s changed, which would be nice.
@EJ_:
Not a dime? Is that some sort of MTA>YU deal? I don’t know anyone who didn’t pay for room and board – not the smartest guy I know, not the poorest guy I know.
@Mend:
Not sure what you mean by “program”, but there is a nice-sized group of Chabad students on campus. They may not have their own Shiur, but they happily join whichever of the 20 Shiurim they find suits their style.
So low income family can commute home n be on full
Tuition scholarship?
Any suggestion for good sat prep course?
And I personally interviews for my company and
Was impressed with Yu grads!
They were very strong candidates !
Keep up the great work
I’m a big fan of YU.
As a recent graduate of Cardozo, not so much. Job prospects coming out are awful and they’ve dropped in just about every rating the last 3 years straight.
@SYM:
There are ways to use your cc to pay, just not directly to YU!
@@Yehuda:
Nah paid for R&B. But not for my education
I graduated Cardozo almost 30 years ago. At that time, it wasn’t so hard to get a job even though it was a new law school. Cardozo has changed over the years. When I went, it was mainly Jewish and a large percentage were frum. When I recently went back to stop at the library, I saw a big change!
@Mend
YU is great and they are pretty friendly towards chabad but you need to be serious. It ain’t 770
Hey Dan! Can I pay for YU tuition with Avios? How about those awful Matmid points – does YU partner with El Al?
Got a master’s in accounting at Syms and got a great job at a Big 4. Scholarships for master’s are small, if you get it at all. But a good program for the right candidate.
