I missed the boat?! Have you been living under the covers since nearly 1 year ago. I don’t think there is a single shul in the world where the Rav isn’t proving guidance, encouragement, and advice to their kehila on how to celebrate simchas Torah on the anniversary of the Hamas siege. To me, simchas Torah feels comparable to Tishabav, and I know I’m not alone. You’re right, I won’t understand the joy this year!
Donald I think yuda is saying we need to learn deal with a tragedy and also celebrate joyous moments that are part of our Torah life cycle… difficult.. forsure .. but not unattainable.
imagine our grandparents who went thru ww2 had that attitude… because of tragedies and unspeakable crimes that happened to them…
