Is the 40% discount automatically applied to the ticket? I’m tying to book a business class ticket for mid January and it’s telling me $3664
@Joe:
International airfares typically require a Saturday night stay for the lowest rates.
Does it have to be round trip?
Of note: Turkish Airlines flies out of several US gateways quite late at night, so this could work for a Motzoei Shabbos departure and return before the following shabbos.
Also discount is on ALL fares, so even if it’s a more expensive fare, it is significantly discounted.
@Joe:
Search on Kayak.com. It will show you the fares for specific flights, you can then click on the link on Kayak.com which will take you to the Turkish Airlines website to book.
You can also search on TurkishAirlines.com using flexible dates,it will show you an indication of the dates with lowest fares, and when you select the dates it will show you which flights have the lowest fares. Flights are displayed in order of total trip duration. (Watch carefully if you don’t want to stay long in IST)
@Anon:
All their fares are on sale, so while a one way might work out to be more expensive, it will still be significantly discounted.
What is their cancellation policy
Is there free cancellations within 24 hours?
How is their business class? Lie flat?
How does an airline like Royal Jordanian compare to Turkish Airways for a religious Jew and in general quality? I’m just curious since I saw a flight there for real cheap.
@Joe Berg:
Theoretically the DoT requires 24 hour refunds, but it can be a big hassle with some airlines when you book directly on their site.
I don’t have personal experience with Turkish, though perhaps others do.
Business is lie-flat.
@Jacob:
Plenty of Jews fly on Royal Jordanian, but Turkish is a much better airline.
How do i book the ticket??
@Chaya: you need to go to down to the chabad office in Turkey to book the ticket
could u still take 2 free b bags on economy?
Is anyone able to get the discounted fair? All I’m seeing are flights for over $1500 RT to Tel Aviv over the holidays and New Years timis…
I tried to look up prices for next pesach. It didn’t seem different. I realism it cd be cos I am coming back after 1t April but going back chol hamoed was similar
What does a Saturday night stay mean?
Are there blackout dates? Nothing like thst sround Chanukah
@Doron:
I book JFK-TLV in January.
@Huh:
It means that 11:59pm on a Saturday needs to occur sometime between the time of departure of outbound flight and the time of departure of the return flight.
I don’t see any flight biz class for 1700. More like 2700
I tried booking jfk to tlv from January 4 till January 10, it includes a Saturday. Prices seem to be regular. No discounts. I tried booking on kayak, Expedia, and on the Turkish website.
A bit off topic anybody knows what kind airline WOW is? Reliable? Extra Fees?
@doron
Outbound flight can’t be between dec 7 and the end of dec!
Having heard horror stories of Turkish Air, are there any data points from people re: BOS-TLV and JFK-TLV? Anyone get stranded? Is it really risky flying after shabbos chol hamoed pesach to get home for last days chag? alternative is flying El Al direct which we know is not actually El Al but a chartered plane.
as far as i’m aware for international for sure you are allowed 2 pieces in economy. my brother and his wife flew to Israel after sukkos on turkish and that was their baggage allowance.
Folks, flights around the holidays and new years are going to cost more. They’ll be 40% off, but still more than the lowest fares.
@avi:
I’ve heard far more horror stories with El Al than Turkish.
Why will anyone fly on Turkish Airlines
To save couple of dollars?
What a shame
@Yosi:
Please find me lie-flat business class for “a couple of dollars” more…
Do kids under 2 fly free?
Can I use chase reserve card to book at 1.5 points for this deal?
The deal has some complications not easily viewed, and not expressed in this ad. Quoting from their website, ”
Outbound: Travel is not permitted 09 December 2016 through 27 December 2016 for departure of first international sector.
Inbound: Travel is not permitted 30 December 2016 through 18 January 2017 for departure of first international sector.” appears to mean that those dates are not covered.
YUL-TLV (Montreal Tel Aviv)
$2,010CAD Business ($1,488USD)
$768CAD Economy ($569USD)
do Turkish offer kosher food in business?
@Dov:
They offer kosher food in all classes and the kosher meals are highly rated!
They are made in Turkey and are supervised by the OK.
@Deficient Information:
They added that after I made this post.
@Dan
The kosher meal answer you supposedly meant to refer to @Joe
the service on turkish air is fantastic and they could not be nicer
yes its full flat bed
