So u have until next next November to by a device and the plane can then be activated and it’s two years or three years from that date?
No, they have mentioned on the product page that the plan starts immediately. I bought this and got an email with 12/12016 as the date from when the plan actviates. So as a worst case scenario it could happen that you buy your electronic device in October next year so you get less coverage than if you bought it sooner. Either way, I think this deal is at a crazy price.
Thanks for answering! Crazy price but doesn’t it say good till November 2017?
@Anonymous:
It covers whatever you buy until then if you signup for the plan now.
Until November? My question is I guess what happens if I signed up fir a 3 year plan
Then it would extend further then next November, correct? And it is a sick rate. Thanks Dan !
@Anonymous:
Both plans cover items bought through next November.
The 2 year plan covers those items for 2 years while the 3 year plan covers those items for 3 years.
Oh so u basically have a year to purchase an item and add it to your protection then the clock starts on your plan?
Sorry fir my ignorance
You have a year to purchase an item but the clock starts ticking the moment you purchase the plan. Typically, you have 30 days to purchase an item after you purchase a plan (unless you purchase the plan with the item itself). In that context, the convenience of having a year is amazing. And the price is unbeatable. And the best part is – it covers even accidental damage. And there is no deductible. If you are worried about the fact that clock starts ticking right away then I’d just say buy the 3-year plan which is just 15 bucks more I think. That way, you’ll have a 2-years of coverage left even if you buy your product next Nov in 2017.
brilliant marketing by amazon. once i buy the plan i’ll likely buy electronics etc from them, so pretty much guaranteed i’ll be spending more money there.
The sad thing is that does not cover things you purchased before today (i bought a computer through amazon on Nov 23rd and it won’t be covered)… Am I right?
@Feedback provider: thank you very much for taking the time in explaining that so well
I fully understand now and it is an amazing deal. Just hope it’s still available. Thanks again , and Dan of course you as well!!!
First check if your credit card offers these types of protections. Why buy this if you already have coverage with the purchasing credit card.
@JohnB:
Which credit card offers accidental damage protection past 90 days from purchase??
From reading the fine print, how does this cover anything but product failure? I don’t see given the terms of the agreement that any “accidental” damage is covered. Anyone have actual experience regarding a claim they filed?
@Josh:
It says very clearly “Protects against accidental damage from day one (drops, spills and cracks); and mechanical breakdown after the manufacturer’s warranty expires”
check the exclusions before you purchase. No refurbs. No small or large appliances. If you have extended credit card warranty protection, is this worth it?
