Delta eliminated their award charts last year, though I saved screenshots of all of them.
And yet they frequently have award sales. They had a Hawaii sale recently, but I pointed out that even with the sale it was significantly cheaper to book awards with Korean miles for travel on Delta as Korean considers Hawaii to be in the same zone as a regular domestic flight!
Now they are having a business class sale for travel to Europe. You can book round-trip saver award travel for 99K miles instead of 140K miles.
You need to book travel by tomorrow and fly between March 1-June 30.
That’s a great deal if you’re sitting on a pile of Delta miles, but if you don’t there are other options.
Korean is famous for having the best first class award space in the industry, but they also have an excellent Skyteam award chart.
If you have Chase points you transfer them at a 1:1 ratio to Korean and book that same Delta saver award for 80K miles round-trip. And that’s their regular price, not a sale price! As long as Delta has 140K round-trip business class awards to Europe available on their site (or 99K with this promo) then Korean can book it for 80K round-trip.
You need to call Korean to book award travel on Delta at 800-438-5000. As always, be sure to call to check for award space before transferring points.

Yes but what YQ would KE charge for DL TATL?
Can this work for bookings to Israel?
Do Chase UR transfer to Korean Air instantly? TY!
Is it good for 1 way as well?
Normally Delta Platinum members can cancel award tickets with no penalty and redeposit the miles. How does that work (if at all) for flights booked through Korean?
No HT? http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=68089.0
@steve:

@Boruch:

@DELTA:

The cheapest saver award level for US to Europe was always 125K, and your saved screenshots is also showing 125K. Suddenly 140K ??
@Wool:
They raised their rates.
@Dan: my bad didn’t see it.
Can you book domestic Delta flight for cheaper thru Korean?
Do you know what the fuel surcharges are approximately?
I’ve never redeemed with Korean Airways before but remember reading that they charge hefty fees on awards.
What about taxes/fees for each of these?
Most people here have UR, not KE miles. 80k UR (or even 80k KE ID you insist on comparing apples to apples) is worth much more than 99k DL…
What about using this for flights to/from TLV JFK?
Is this the best way to get to london ?
AsherO, can you explain why I shouldn’t convert 80k UR to KE if I want to fly J on DL to Europe?
@Yanky:
If you don’t mind economy you can get Delta for 25k one way via Air France/flying blue. You can also use Amex points.
