why buy cash card for ikea when can charge on amex and have a warranty?
@why:
Unless the warranty is 5 years or less you won’t get an added warranty:

STAY AWAY from these guys. I bought multiple cards in the past. All were fine. Last month I bought some and discovered that they processed all of my purchases as cash advances. It was the same card I had on file with them for months. I got slammed with $50 of bank fees and interest. Amex will not do anything. They say it’s all because of the way CardCash is processing the payments. Amex even looked back and checked that my previous purchases had been charged as product purchases. STAY AWAY!!
Dan, ikea would replace item?
I always count only on cc
I checked the value on all my cards when they arrived. Do I have to worry that they will lose their balance after 45 days?
@Moshe:
I’d strongly advise using them within 45 days.
Dan, you need to stop recommending this outfit. After my experience (still no response), and your warning about using their cards within 45 days, this outfit can’t be trusted.
When buying cards at SVM on eBay I plan to hold on
And use in a year
Any risk of funds stolen?
Cards come with scratch able pin
@Screwed:
It has nothing to do with this outfit, the same issue plagues every GC on the secondary market. The seller can sell it to CC and still cash out the GC from the store.
CC guarantees that won’t happen for 45 days, hence why you should use it within that time frame.
@SVM:
Those aren’t secondary gift cards, so there is no such risk.
Really bummed Ink + doesn’t get 5% back anymore from CC. Oh well.
Dan – I realize these guys pay you, but if you’re going to put your name behind something, I would think you’d want people who buy from them relying on your recommendation not to get cheated. It wasn’t just this one guy, I had a really bad experience too, and when emailing them using your recommended email address I don’t even get a response from them. I appreciate all the deals you post and am a big follower, which makes your recommendation of them like this all the more disappointing to me.
@YGX:
I’ve reached out to them and they said they would monitor it more closely.
In the meantime, I’ve sent along a few reader emails that were sent to me over to them and they’ve been taken care of, feel free to do the same if you’re within the 45 days.
Dan, I got an email today. CardCash tells me it’s not its fault. It claims that branded Amex cards (such as Fidelity) are being put through as purchases and then changed by the Amex system to cash advances. CardCash has done nothing to assist me – just sent me back to Amex!
Perhaps not surprisingly, the credit card issuer states that the problem is all with CardCash. The finger pointing continues. I now have asked CardCash cancel these transactions and run them on another card. No response.
Sorry for the blow by blow, but CardCash responded. It will not cancel and recharge. Simply refers me to Amex, saying that they have confirmation from Amex that it is an Amex problem. I asked for their contact at Amex since I am getting nowhere with anyone I call. Silence from CardCash. I imagine there are plenty of other Dan’s readers who used Fidelity-branded Amex cards. Seems like some nasty bills will be coming to others soon too.
@Still Screwed:
Send me an email with your order details and I’ll pass it along to our contact.
Thank you, Dan. I sent you an email.
