Word is just hitting the street that Anbang will not be buying SPG in the end.
This comes on the heels of Anbang making a higher offer than Marriott over the weekend and amid questions about who exactly controls Anbang and where their backing comes from.
And now all we can do is wait and see what Marriott does to our beloved SPG program…

Bad bad bad
This and AS deval in one day… Too much
Is this better for us ??? Can someone explain
So what does this mean?
Should I stop using spg?
How long will it take until the switch over goes into effect
Excellent news. So in a year and a half I’ll be able to stay at all the W, Westin, and nice Sheraton properties out there and earn points and redeem them as well. The footprint will be phenomenal now and that’s what I care about most.
@searchguy there was an AS deval announced today?? Been driving all day
@Marriott Man:
I guess there are always some winners out there
@Leo:
No one knows what this really means. Problem is Marriot is not nearly as good as SPG program so chances are will be bad
@Dan you couldn’t give me credit for breaking the story in DDF? 🙂
What it means is that Chinese’s Anbang want to buy the USA, little by little. Already bought the Waldorf Astoria for close to 2 billions. I DON’T TRUST the CHINESE !!!! They want to control the world! Only think about themselves!
@Avi: nearly a repeat of what the world says about the great ‘ol USA! except that truly noble motives and impeccable character is involved there… Seems that BHO got his way and is ok with s/0 else stepping in to lead the world to the abyss. G-d help us (& our points value;-)
