How does this compare to the black Friday deal from Microsoft on the Dell Inspiron 15 i5558-5718SLV Signature Edition Laptop for $399. I bought that one and now I’m thinking if I should buy this instead. Any thoughts? Thanks.
@Dan Please advise what is better deal, this one or that which you post earlier @DansDeals: HP 15.6″ 6 Gen Core i7 Touchscreen Laptop For $619.99 Shipped https://t.co/w04t7OcKGh/s/g0PG
m.twitter.com/DansDeals (I bought this one but they don’t send it yet)
Good price but note that the screen resolution conflicts with information on Acer’s site. That may be why Microsoft has it on sale.
@Esther: if I recall correctly the only difference was that the black friday one had a 5th generation i5 processor and this has a 4th generation i5.
From what I’ve checked online this is a 1366×768 display not a full HD screen as opposed to the dell laptop that was a full HD. Although the Microsoft website lists it at the full HD display it is apparently mislabeled
As seen on Microsoft’s website:
I have called Microsoft about this specifically. They confirmed (after 3 minutes of wait) that this is 1920 x 1080 indeed and explained to me that the vendor(s) tweak some of the configuration specifically for certain retailers so what was published on the store website should be accurate. In case, it turns out to be incorrect, you can return for full refund. So, nothing to loose except time
Microsoft has just changed the listed specs to 1366 x 768.
See the post update for a screenshot of the previously stated specs.
@Heshy:
Did they confirm it in writing? Customer service reps usually don’t have a clue.
So which is better deal or better computer this acer or the dell from Black Friday I also purchased it and guess have same questions as Esther.
Out of stock
I saveda screenshot of the specs and downloaded a copy of the webpage in case there would be problems. Worst case scenario I’ll return it. Best case scenario would be a partial refund. 🙂
You can still get a similar one for $399
