Would you mind posting a link of this same computer to Amazon so I can read reviews? Thank you!

Here’s an Amazon link:

IMHO, if you’re looking for a low cost laptop this one posted last night is a better value (especially if you take advantage of the Amex Amazon savings):

The ASUS is better hands down because it doesn’t come with lenovo “support”.

Lenovo is a GREAT keyboard, a pleasure to type on. This particular one doesn’t have a touch-screen. If you need a basic computer, you CANNOT go wrong with this one. But if you’re looking for a touch-screen, wait another few months and more and more will become available as “refurbished,” which is just really Walmart and Amazon lightly used and returned without the box. You know, for that trip abroad that someone needs to work while visiting their kids, and it’s cheaper to buy and return a computer rather than to rent it.

@TR:

I find your response surprising I have a Lenovo and i found their support decent at worst.

The main difference between the Asus and the Lenovo is that the Asus has an HD monitor. The 1366×768 resolution which has become standard on lower end laptops is really not a good resolution for any practical work.
The CPU on the Asus is slightly better: it’s a newer generation and slightly faster.
The hard drive on the Lenovo is larger if storage is important.

For me, the HD monitor makes the Asus the hands down choice between the two if I was buying one of these.

Asus is offering accidental damage protection, which seems like a good value. I have no idea how good they are when a claim is actually made though.

As far as support, both companies have good reviews and bad reviews on their support so I am not basing my opinion on that, just on the specs.
If there is an issue early on, Amazon has great customer service and it should not be difficult to get a refund or replacement.

P.S. Lenovo has been caught more than once preinstalling software that compromised the security of their devices.

Have you had an ASUS? An HP? My experiences were not uniquely bad for Lenovo customers. I currently have a Lenovo that has been sent in 2x for repairs to issues that developed months after purchase and got it back with new issues that they won’t the highest level of “support” will not respond to my email and phone inquiries after a month over now. My model isn’t supported for windows 10 less than 2 years after purchase. And this is for a laptop 3x the price of this one on sale. My ASUS netbook has had a few issues, but they were each resolved within a call. So its hard to consider that support from “Lenovo SWAT”. Just google them, that’s who you deal with when your machine goes bad. I have had a couple HPs and a dell and an ASUS and Samsung components on my custom built desktop. I couldn’t imagine Lenovo being much worse than hp when I got it, but here I am, no need to lie here.
