An official Starwood rep writes that you can earn 150 Starpoints by just filling out 3 security questions via this link.
This promotion is valid through 10/31 and the points will post by the end of November.
It’s only valid for Starwood accounts that were opened before today.
While earning 150 points today I noticed that the 200 free Starpoints from this promotion have already posted to my account, so if you haven’t done that yet take a look at that post as well.

4*** security questions
Did it. But didn’t say anything about points.
@Banker:
Hence the first line of this post.
the 200 points for email sing up went down to 50 (at lease for me)
Whenever I try to update my account it does not let me hit save changes. This is the third time I’ve tried to get the points and each time nothing happens when I hit save changes. I don’t know what I am doing wrong but nothing happens.
@Anonymous:
Try another browser.
does using the SPG credit card for everyday purchases extend the life of the points?
@Dan:
I did it from your link. It said nothing about the extra point and it said:
Thank you for updating your profile.
You have changed your eligibility to receive Starpoints for the bookings you make on behalf of others. To register again, please contact a Sales Associate at your local Starwood hotel.
Receive offers based on your interests, enjoy faster booking and more personalized attention by keeping your profile updated with current information.
To update your profile information, click “Edit” in the area you’d like to make changes.
I’m on the phone with them now.
@Elaine:
So he said that message shouldn’t mean anything and it’s if you have SPG- Pro which I don’t have and probably a mistake but means nothing. As far as the points, he said it should post in a week and he notated the account and I should call next week about it.
If any of you is using Award Wallet to keep track of your points, getting this 150 SPG points will hinder the update of points by AW. It will ask for security Word but , since the security questions are specific questions, you don’t know which question is reffering to so…it doesn’t update. I don’t know if it’s worth it.
I received a set of questions that was so odd that I couldn’t find 3 questions for which I would always remember the answers. “What is your favorite Starwood Hotel?” or “What is your most prized passport stamp?” For me, not worth getting locked out of my account to earn 150 points.
Points posted! Thnx
