i fly Turkish to Israel and back at least twice a year for 5 years. i live their airline. great service , great kosher meals. also they have an amazing lounge in Istanbul airport where most of their stops are when going to Israel. If you have your 2 passes from Ink or a card with a pass enjoy. i usually try and make at least a 3-4 hour stop off and enjoy the lounge with my family. great experience to be in a beautiful shower and totally forget that you are in the airport. everything in the lounge is free. food isn’t kosher in lunge :(.. but they have at least 10 open bars.. you can go and poor urself a drink,or enjoy their spa.. they offer free massages all day. they have male & female masseuses. free drinks and snacks. fruits, i would ask a rav if its can possibly be a problem for shmittah but i doubt it would travel that far.

Is this still happening for non-stop flights? Seems like just stop over via Turkey for $599

My brother told me of cheap flights to EY he heard of here and i was tempted to go to for Succos. Though i realized afterward how insane the idea might be, and will likely have to give it up due to timing and price.

I’m planning on being in Telshe Cleveland for Yom Kippur. Yom Kippur is on Wednesday and Succos is on Monday, making Thursday (Sept 24th) the only realistic day for a flight. Coming back is negotiable, timing for Oct 11th.

I’ve checked flights from DTW->TLV and NYC->TLV, but they are either too expensive or arrive on Shabbos.

Just give it up, or is there a chance lightening will strike?

@Ben where was the lounge? my Husband and I always travel to TLV with Turkish from LAX and we love the airline. we travel with an infant and they have been so accommodating.
Just I can never find their lounge and we always have a 3-4 hour lay over… resting and a clean shower would be nice.
Any idea?

you walk past everything all the way to the end of the airport, its the last thing past duty free and the restaurants. its the star alliance lounge. its absolutely stunning like a hotel with a lot of private area to relax. when you get off the plane it should be no more than a 5 minute walk.. its 2 minutes past the gates you would go to for your connection flights.
