Has anyone used this in israel
It’s a peace of garbage it has its own app store not android
I had it for two months then returned it……..
Is this compatible in Israel?
@Yn yes I use it in Israel (originally with Orange now with Golan) and it works great!
@Yn: GSM technology is very common in Israel. Main issue with Amazon phones is lack of apps.
Can i buy the phone and get amazon prime. And then return the phone and stay with the prime?
It is absolutely a gorgeous phone(for this price) the dynamic perspective is gimmicky imo, the only issue is the Amazon appstore it doesn’t have the best selection(but they are improving with time).
@Ag:
I’d be mildly surprised if this works. But even if it did- if you intentionally plan to do this from the beginning, that seems like straight-out stealing…
Can the amazon prime be converted to a gift card like what happened with the kindle deal? Also is the fire now compatible with Chromecast?
I’m not so sure it’s stealing. It’s TUES AKIM
I got the Fire when it was on a similar sale. i already had prime, but with the phone i was able to use prime music and kindle lending library more, and i also got included in the NJ-area amazon fresh pilot which was great.
In terms of Apps- the phone is 100% compatible with the google play store and all android apps. I use them all, and only use the amazon native app store for some good free apps that they give away.
Go to the website is called yourbountyhunger.org/firephone. and it shows you how to install the play store.
@Ag – In the Amazon FAQ:
What happens if I return my Fire?
Once your return has been processed, the unused portion of your promotional Prime membership (that came with your device purchase) will be canceled.
@Ag Also, today is Wednesday, so it might be WED AKIM.
@Ag: I’m far from being a Rabbi unfortunately,but it seems from your reply that you are not sure whether it is permitted or not. If that is so, then please ask your Rabbi if it is permitted.
If I already have Amazon Prime, can I defer the free Prime until my current Prime expires?
@Ag:
Ta’us is when they make a mistake on their own, not when you intentionally scheme to deceive them with your “khop.”
@Steve:
The Prime membership activates when you activate the phone. So you could just buy the phone, keep it in the sealed box for a year, and then activate it next year.
If you activate it today, then it just extends your Prime membership by a year on the back end.
wondering if I can keep the prime, and gift the phone to someone else? 😉
@mmmmm:
I just called Amazon, they told me that if you register the phone with your account, you get prime, you can then deregister and register a new account and Prime stays.
They pointed out that the new account would not have Prime benefits unless that account has Prime or adds it.
@kb:
Can anyone confirm this?
Steve, if you already have prime it just adds an additional year to your existing prime membership. Dan mentions this in the above post.
Just got this from amazon!
Dear smu
As a thank you for recently browsing on Amazon from an Android device, we placed a $15 Amazon Appstore credit onto your account; valid toward the purchase of apps, games, and in-app items (excluding subscriptions). This credit will be automatically applied to eligible purchases made before August 9, 2015, 11:59 PM PST until the full credit is redeemed.
Does it give you free Prime in Canada?
@YGX: Now that is definitely assur!
If i order one and want to rerurn it how much time can i wait to return it?
@Fire Phone: @mmmmm:
I just called and they said that if you deregister, the 1st account will then loose the prime. The phone and the prime go hand in hand.
Do the GSM bands on this phone allow it to be used in Europe? In Asia? I saw something indicating that it might only work in the Americas.
Thanks!
I ordered the fire phone from Amazon called to confirm you can take the Amazon prime membership as long as you keep the phone you do not have to activate the phone to A wireless networkyou can use it on Wi-Fi it is also a good spare phone to have on hand Best deal I could’ve ever gotten
After the year is up will I have to buy amazon prime again, or will the phone preform fine without it
Does it work with t-mobile?
@A.Tasso: steve, thanks!
@Carl: thanks. .missed that!

Q&A about the fire on Amazon:
What if I use my Fire but then later decide to give or sell it to another person? Do they get a year of Prime as well?
No, only the first Amazon account registered to your Fire (during the promotional period) will get a year of Prime applied.
