Update 2: Qantas has quietly announced that they will be honoring these fares!
It’s an interesting test case, as this is one of the first widespread price mistakes since the DoT announced that they will no longer be forcing airlines to honor price mistakes.
Is it out of goodwill? Is it the realization that honoring these fares would be cheaper than having to pay for people’s non-refundable travel plans that may have been booked based on the assumption that these fares would be honored? Or is it that the DoT hasn’t fully rescinded their rule yet?

all I know is that I’m glad you and other bloggers have stopped writing “price mistake” in the titles. Better chance of getting honored, especially since they used your previous post as evidence to the DOT of people taking advantage of their mistakes.
