Google released a kid’s friendly YouTube app earlier this week that offers some great features. You can download it for free via the links above.
“The official YouTube Kids app is designed for curious little minds. This free app is delightfully simple and packed full of age-appropriate videos, channels, and playlists. YouTube Kids features popular children’s programming, plus kid-friendly content from filmmakers, teachers, and creators all around the world.
Kids can enjoy favorites like Sesame Street, Thomas & Friends, and Dreamworks, online hits like Mother Goose Club, TuTiTu, and Super Simple Songs, plus anything else they’re into — music, gaming, science, crafts, and more.
You can turn off search for an even more contained experience. Or set the built-in timer to let your kids know when it’s time to stop watching (so you don’t have to). The app puts these settings behind a grown-ups-only lock, out of kids’ reach.”

This was a free app already. Is this a sponsored advertisement?
That is so cool!! I need that! Thanks for sharing Dan!
@Efriam:
As I’ve seen this posted by a few referral chasers, my uninformed opinion would be that that youtube’s paying referrals on this.
@Efriam:
It launched this week. This is not a paid ad, if it was it would say so.
@jackie:
False.
Any Hebrew options?

As Dan has written numerous times, he blogs about things that interest him. He has children so I assume he, like me, is excited about a safer environment for his kids’ internet use.
Just saw the replies now – I think I was pretty clear that it was just a guess and not fact. FWIW not to make it like I don’t personally benefit greatly from deal sites (been checking out Dan from ctown blogspot days) but I don’t think its insulting to talk of referrals.
@Jackie:
How did you think calling someone a referral chaser wouldn’t be construed as an insult?
Yes this is a business. Doesn’t mean I won’t write about something just because there’s nothing in it for me. If you knew me from the ctown days I went years before making anything from this site…
Dan I apologize if it came out that way, before I saw this posted by you I had seen it posted by the people I was referring to (not you!) that seem to just post referral links which is what led my guess….. Again absolutely no insult meant to you.
Just deleted the “adult” youtube, I’ll stick with the “kids” version, much safer for Judaism… was always looking for a youtube alternative, finally found one. Thanks Dan.
