I ordered 3 to hopefully sell …
Can they be returned?
Does it run on Android?
I am quite CERTAIN neither Verizon nor Sprint are “CDMA” networks.
smh…I mean how bad is this phone? Price keeps going lower and lower.
Can it be returned?
@Shlomo:
Of course.

But return shipping is not free right? It is deducted from the refund, correct?
Does this phone work with straight talk?
This phone is an awesome phone.
The price point for it being unlocked is an excellent steal.
It will work for all GSM networks (AT&T,T-Mobile etc…) as well as any GSM Network Overseas (Israel, Europe, etc…) Just pop the sim card in and you should be good to go.
Although I haven’t personally tried it on straight talk it should work.
It WILL NOT work on CDMA based 4G LTE Networks.(i.e. Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular)
Hope this helps
If you buy one you could be the 50,001 person to buy one! that would be awesome
can it be used to sign up Serve/Softcard? Thanks
@PL: Verizon and Sprint are CDMA for voice and 3g data. 4g is GSM. Verizon is moving off CDMA at some future date.
This phone runs a forked version of android. It does not have access to google apps such as GMail, Maps, Navigation etc. Additionally, you can only buy content from the Amazon Appstore. Not a great idea unless you are already invested in the Amazon ecosystem. eg… you own a kindle fire and already own Amazon apps.
seems not to have access to google apps.
does it have a siddur and tehilllim and other jewish stuff?
Check the Amazon appstore.
Also… if the Linux kernel vulnerability has not been patched, you may be able to use towelroot to root the device and then sideload the playstore.
@mark
thanks
please explain your second comment for those of us who are ignorant š
does it have the android operation system?
@Bayla: Not really. Under the hood it runs Android. But, without access to Google play services… you would never know that.
@Bayla: Not really… under the hood it runs Android. But, without access to Google play services it may as well be a completely proprietary system.
@eliraps: Amazon runs their own custom version of Android. It comes loaded with all of Amazon’s own services including Amazon Apps and video content. If you own an Android phone… Odds are that you purchased apps from the Google play store. Those apps will not be available to you. You would be forced to “re-purchase” them from Amazon. To make matters worse, the software on the phone has been locked down to prevent you from installing the Google play store and downloading your apps. In most cases… if you can get access to the root level of the phone, you can install whatever you want. Towelroot was released during the summer and it would grant root access to the user just by installing and running the app. The flaw that Towelroot used to gain root access has been patched in many cases. I assume that Amazon has done so already.
Sounds like “unlocked” is a bit of a misnomer. It may be unlocked as far as the service provider is concerned, but it’s locked into Amazon’s apps.
do i get prime shipping for this order,or it only works after, since i am getting it buying the phone?
Can I have apks from the play store installed?
@Dov: No… you cannot install the play store.
@Dov: I assumed that your question was not about sideloading apks. If it was… then I would tell you that most locked down devices prevent you from installing apks using a file manager after the device has booted up. You can often sideload the apk using ADB. But, you have to have some degree of technical knowledge to do that.
