Norwegian has one-way flights from Tel Aviv to JFK via Copenhagen from $274 bookable directly on their website. Just switch the currency from EUR to USD.
They don’t sell JFK to Tel Aviv tickets as flights in that direction would require an overnight connection in Copenhagen. You may be able to book cheap tickets that way by searching separately for tickets from JFK to Copenhagen and Copenhagen to Tel Aviv if you’re willing to stopover in Copenhagen.
Note that a checked bag from Tel Aviv to JFK will cost $70.

Transaero has also had cheap fares to Israel for a while now, it was posted on the DansDeals Forums last Thursday. Those flights are from JFK to Tel Aviv via Moscow. Transaero doesn’t exactly have a stellar reputation for being a great airline, but people tell me that I’m doing a disservice to my readers by not at least writing about the sale.
So I’m not just going to write about the sale, I’ve compiled just about every valid date for the sale to make it really easy to find valid dates.
When searching for flights you should always search at first for one passengers to see if you might save money by booking up however many cheap seats are available. Otherwise you wind up paying the higher price for everyone in the party.
You can either fly one-way from JFK to Tel Aviv from $369 or round-trip from JFK to Tel Aviv and back for $665. If you originate in Tel Aviv then prices will be higher.
2 checked bags are free.
You can book the Transaero sale via CheapOAir.
These dates have cheap one-way fares from JFK-Tel Aviv:
$369 dates: 09/28, 10/01, 10/06, 10/13, 10/22, 10/26, 10/29, 11/05, 11/09, 11/12, 11/16, 11/19, 11/23, 11/26, 11/30, 12/03, 12/07, 12/10, 12/14, 12/17, 12/21, 01/04, 01/14, 01/18, 01/21, 01/25, 01/28, 02/01, 02/04, 02/08, 02/11, 02/15, 02/28, 02/22, 02/25, 02/27, 03/01, 03/04, 03/08, 03/11, 03/15, 03/18, 03/22, 03/25
$374 dates: 09/29
$388 dates: 09/21, 09/22, 10/20, 11/02, 12/22, 01/05, 01/07, 01/11, 01/12
If you use one of the valid JFK-Tel Aviv dates above then you can use any of the following return dates to book a round-trip from Tel-Aviv-JFK for $665. (In other words a round-trip flight from JFK-TLV from 10/22 until 10/30 will be $665): 10/12, 10/13, 10/23, 10/28, 10/29, 10/30, 10/31, 11/04, 11/05, 11/06, 11/11, 11/12, 11/13, 11/18, 11/19, 11/20, 11/23, 11/25, 11/26, 11/27, 12/02, 12/03, 12/04, 12/07, 12/09, 12/10, 12/11, 12/14, 12/16, 12/17, 12/18, 12/23, 12/24, 01/13, 01/15, 01/20, 01/27, 01/28, 01/29, 02/01, 02/03, 02/04, 02/05, 02/08, 02/10, 02/11, 02/12, 02/15, 02/17, 02/18, 02/19, 02/22, 02/24, 02/25, 02/26, 03/01, 03/03, 03/04, 03/05, 03/08, 03/10, 03/11, 03/12, 03/15, 03/17, 03/18, 03/19, 03/22, 03/24, 03/25, 03/26

Norwegian has a horrible horrible performance record (safety is fine though) so Buyer beware.
Great if you’re flying w/o luggage, but $75-$80 per bag on Norwegian (including the first) if you’re not.
..so the $665 option is just for 1-way, not round-trip, right?
Is this a safe airline?
From what I can see, you can buy from Israel to nyc for pesach, but there is no option for the return flight back to Israel after pesach for these prices. Am I correct?
I cannot seem to pay with regular Mastercard – does this make sense?
@Shulem:
$70.
Expensive, but then again on a $270 flight it’s still a deal.
@R:
It’s round-trip.
@Mike:
They’re both safe airlines. As far as service, you get what you pay for.
@Liz:
Correct.
@Ta,ara:
You can also try booking the Norwegian flights on CheapOAir.
their site is so complicated, when i chose a one way from tlv to jfk it just shows me the times it goes to Copenhagen, nothing else
Thank you Dan for all the pointers. In my experience, Norwegian airlines is very nasty, and if they don’t book you as a stopover flight and you do it on your own it is your responsibility. They will not give you anything if they are delayed and you miss your second leg of the flight. When you pay $70 per bag is it for the full flight and not just per segment?
@liz the closest date to pessach is 3/9 or (3/16) pessach isnt till april 4?
@Anonymous:
Doesn’t do that for me.
@yada:
$70 is for the full TLV-CPH-JFK flight.
Isn’t ARN airport full with anti Israelis?
Thy fly to jfk with the brand new 787 dreamliner
@Anonymous:
They don’t fly direct. Do TVL to CPH and CPH to JFK.
@Israel:
Not that I would hesitate to fly via ARN (or even DXB for that matter), but which of these deals is via ARN?
@dave:
Indeed.
@yada:
You can purchase a ticket from TLV to JFK on the Norwegian site or from CheapOAir.
@Dan: May 7 TLV-JFK goes via ARN
@Israel:
Interesting, I guess it switches from CPH to ARN at some point?
Either way, I don’t see what the big deal is.
@Dan: btw DXB is completely different since they will not let you board a flight to there if you have a Israeli passport or ever was in Israel, i think.
@Israel:
1000% false.
$40 off 4+ passengers booked together using promo GROUP40 on CheapOAir
Dan,
This is below you, at least give DM where this deal originated a HT.
Everyone knows it came from there.
@Your Better:
Actually he ripped it off of the DansDeals Forums (as many other deal sites do all the time without ever posting a HT to the people there who find the deals) where it was posted well before he wrote about it, http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=45045
I wrote in the post why I didn’t cover it then. Frankly I personally wouldn’t fly to Israel on Transaero. But obviously there’s more than enough other people who would. Which is why I spent the time to research and find every valid date for the deal.
Norwegian serves all 3 airports in the 3 countries of Scandinavia. OSK, ARN, and CPH. They fly daily to/from JFK, but not to each airport. So connection could be any of them, just book the connecting flight, like TLV-CPH-OSL, as part of one of dates.
Do I have to pay for the bag when booking the tickets?
@dan NICE!
It’s been a while since Iv’e seen so many ungrateful kvetchy people commenting on this site.
Who are also all claiming to know the ins and outs of the flights and airlines better than the more experienced.
If you search one-way from jfk-tlv on Kayak the price is significantly lower and and they redirect you to Cheapoair at that lower price.
Example: JFK-TLV 10/26 $336 on cheapoair VIA KAYAK ($369 if you don’t go through Kayak)
or 10/20 is $354 VIA KAYAK ($388 without going through Kayak)
Thats about $35 less for just a little twist
@Your Better:
You’re** better.
Also, try being polite next time.
As always, thanks Dan!
I flew transaero and had a great experience!They put u in to couch economy for free and I was able to take 2 luggage. Plus the flights are usually empty so I had a full row to stretch out.just make sure to bring along something to entertain yourself since there is zero entertainment given on the flight.
anything to do in russia for 12 hrs?
Just booked 12/21 to 01/4 for 696$ with Transaero !!
@mg:
You’d need a russian visa to get out of the airport, unless you’re a russian citizen. The visas cost almost $200.
@Your Better:
From his Twitter feed timestamp, he posted the deal 6 hours after it was originally posted on the DansDeals Forums.
@judy:
Thanks for sharing.
Seems like some people enjoyed while others say that it’s not very enjoyable Probably depends on the flight attendants.
@Anthony:
Enjoy!
@Ari:
Yup.
@MG You cant leave the Airport in Russia without a visa
Norway air wont show on ITA?
..so if I am coming from America (JFK) & want to fly the wk of Oct 19th, is there any option here for me?
Am I the only one who saw >$160 in tax and fees on the TLV->CPH?
@Yisroel:
Dan,
Why don’t you add the kayak update to the post? Is there something unsecure about Kayak?
Btw, that $15 promo becomes only $10 when you go through Kayak. But make the calculations, it still comes out far more worth it!
@R:
Yes.
Search one way on kayak.com for 10/20 and it should be $354. And once you are redirected to Cheapoair add promo ny15 and an additional $10 will be taken off.
@Yisroel:
I tried a date on Kayak and after selecting a flight the price went up.
But if it works for you, great.
Thanks Dan for this deal. I booked a one way from TLV-JFK via CPH for $281 (I splurged 9 Euro for the Insurance) I’ll deal with the bag fees when I travel. I noticed that they don’t offer kosher so I ignored that option, (I’ll take a shawarma from Massov in Jerusalem before I go.) as well as choosing a seat.
All together between the Priceline glitch and this nice deal I can get to go round trip to Israel for a whopping $510!
Thank you Dan!
@Dan: Did you try the samples I wrote? I just treid it again and it still works.
@Your Better:
Its funny that you are even saying this.
#1 He rips most his deals off DDMS and DDf with no credits ever given to Dan.
#2 He goes and follows Dan’s Twitter followers so they should follow him in return like he did to me and my husband (dont worry Dan we didnt start followiing him). Besides his first 500 or so followers are just spams that he paid $5 for on Fiverr.
Shame on DM now before RH is a good time for him to do teshuva!
@Jack what is this priceline glitch?
Any deals out there from LAX to TLV? Appreciate any help that can be provided.
Still doesn’t work for me, but thanks for keeping my hopes up!
As much as I love cheap tickets & after travelling twice with my 6 kids to israel via transaero I can just say this much ” do NOT fly with transaero” first of all safety reasons they have airplanes that have been in use in the mid ’90s can you believe this, do you see on the streets axes from those years??? But they still use those planes 2nd the comfort most of the seats are broken & the cushening would just slide off from the seat , 3rd the food if you love tomatoe paste go for it but there food Is only mixed with tomatoe sauce text, 4th reason the hours of the flights are horrible, 5th reason they will NOT accommodate you with your children I flew with 6 children I asked for bulkhead seats they refused to give us even 2 of them but even worse that they spread us around the aircraft not seatin together , they HATE kids so again my recommendation is NOT to fly with transaero airlines it’s not worth the savings
@WOW: agreed
How do i get in touch w a dansdeals travel agent?
Is 665 for RT middle of winter so great?
isn’t it the usual during winter?
wait for Oct. Delta and everyone else will lower price
I looked it up on http://www.norwegian.com/ and found my Jan 19th flight for 274.00 (includes all taxes and surcharges) – with the $70.00 baggage fee makes my flight to the US 344.00 Looked on air.faregeek.com for the return flight and found selected dates (I’m not returning till March) for 339.23 – 2 bags free – on Transaero (3 hour stop in Moscow).. good luck everyone!!!
Thanks Dan!!!!
Update, Norwegian will charge you 40.90 for the meal and if you choose seat reservations they will charge you up to 68.++ for that too.. be careful!!
Is it safe to stop in Norway?
I live in passaic nj and am looking to fly in november back and forth from israel. I see there are different deals going on the last few weeks, however, it all seems a bit confusing to me. I need luggage, and i have mastercard. Any guidance as to where the best priced tickets would be?
