Effective 09/01 Evolve Money will only allow you to make 1 payment per biller per month.
“Due to changes in our risk and regulatory compliance policies, Evolve Money will be implementing a limit of one payment per biller account per month. This change takes effect September 1, 2014. There are no limits on the number of cash payments made with a Reloadit pack or Evolve Pay Bucks.
We realize that some of our users have taken advantage of the multiple payments per month to pay off larger expenses such as mortgages. We are currently working on ways to improve the bill paying experience for you and expect to announce details soon.”
Originally Evolve allowed you to make unlimited payments from a credit card to a biller. Then they stopped allowing credit card (though they still allowd gift cards) and then limited it to 4 payments per biller per month.
Was fun while it lasted!

🙁
just got the email also :(:(:(
🙁
Well, if you have more than one bill, you can still use it more than once a month…definitely not as powerful as it was, but better than nothing…
Time to start a twitter beef…
#devolvemoney
i’ve only been using it to pay (effectively unlimited) principle to my mortgage lender. what other sort of biller have people used that allows them to generate a significant amount of spend?
hopefully evolvemoney will come up with a policy that still allows multiple payments per month to mortgage lenders as their email seems to imply towards the end.
My guess is they’ll let you spend higher amounts on one card. They clearly are trying to restrict people MS through them.
I’m assuming this includes $200 staples gift cards? Just one gift card per bill too I assume?
Anywhere to find $1000 visa gift cards now?
Grrr… So as expected, their business model could not hold up. Surprised that they have to take it down to 1 payment per biller per month.
Is it per calendar month? If so, you can make 1 at the end and 1 in beginning of a month. I guess depending on when your bill is due….
they’re service will still work for me
How do they treat guests?
@sam:
Does it have to do with when the user submits the bill or when Evolve actually pays it? If it’s when the user submits the bill, then what Sam says might not work since it takes a few days for Evolve to send the money. If, however, it’s when Evolve actually pays it then at any point in the month I can schedule 1 payment for the end of that month and 1 payment for the beginning of the next month. Theoretically this should work if it’s per calendar month.
@yyk:
However, please note that some billers don’t accept partial payments unless it’s all on the same day.
@sam: What would you acomplish? That instead of having 1 payment a month you now have 2 payments every 2 months?
Dan, what is the best way to spend for sign up bonuses now?
OMG now more Evolve? My Walmarts stopped accepting gift cards too.
I guess it’s back to the AMEX for Target now 🙂
What if you have multiple evolve accounts? is it possible? and then you make payments to your mortgage from a few accounts (1 under your name, 1 your spouse, 1 your kid etc.)
@ed: won’t work. They record it by bill so no matter where the payment comes from once the 1 payment is made they won’t take another.
I used to use it to pay bills using my PayPal business debit card, which gives back 1%. But they don’t allow that anymore
@ed:
their terms explicitly forbid making multiple accounts to pay the same bill, so probably not a good idea to try
Already a month ago they would not accept my Visa Gift Card from Staples…they said that the cards with those 6 starting digits are not acceptable…Do you think they read Dans Deals???
ברוך דין ×”×מת
In terms of Amex serve, do they allow “debit card” refills with visa gc’s from staples? And does Amex serve allow multiple payments per biller account?
@Achas Ve’achas: nisht punkt uber bseder…
Wow, this is so exciting 😉 I’m in!
Thanks for killing another deal. Much appreciated.
What if it’s more than one account with the same biller?
Does anyone know what a ” cash payment with a Reloadit pack” is ? Its quoted in the post as having no limit.
