Stackable with moving 10% discount?
Think I’ll go with the 10 percent off. Looks like a better deal.
Dan,
any limit on the savings for the 10% off coupon?
@DoGo:
Doubt it.
@Eli:
The math is pretty simple. Anything over $100 and you’re better with 10% off, anything under $100 and you’re better with $10 off.
Can you buys gift cards for $50 and get $10 back?
Are giftcards free at lowes?
I also see an Amex offer for $10 off of $50.
“Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a total of $50 or more on qualifying purchases at Lowe’s by 5/31/2014.”
Does lowes have a meet or BEAT (printed quote) by %10?
(Home Depot has that).
@TG:
No limit.
@GS:
No gift cards to other stores online.
@shady:
Store gift cards don’t have fees, only Visa/MC/AMEX ones do.
So these codes r worthless for buying giftcards cuz the codes are online and cards r not sold online?
cant buy lowes gift cards online with this promotion either
Can the $10 off of $50 be used multiple times?
@shady: buy something other than gift cards online and make for store pickup. When you get to the store, try doing an exchange for either Lowe’s gift cards or another type of merchant gift card. Not sure if that will work, but just a thought. Anyone tried this?
$10 off coupon “not valid at this time”. Dan, any idea? I am purchasing regular items, not gift cards. The 10% code worked fine but my order was under $100 so it didn’t make sense to use.
Dan, the $10 off code is incorrect. The correct code is:
47000RRRRR3319R
Anyone know if these promo codes work for in stor epickups or only online?
@yyk:
Thanks.
@Isaac:
Both.
Dan, it looks like the 10% off code is one-time use but I’m not sure about the $10 off of $50. Do you know?
when i try to checkout after cc info nothing happens….anyone have this problem and figure it out?
@james. Interesting but doubtful
just remember if your buying staples GCs to buy the $50 ones because you can only use 5 GCs in one transaction online.
Dan, have you used gc’s at staples.com to buy visa gc’s multiple times?
I’ve seen people say that staples cancels orders for that. I was wondering what your experience has been.
And did you use it for a small part of the payment, or a large part?
Thanks.
@Chuck:
Paid for $750 out of an $800 order with Staples GCs.
OK, i understand that if you have a chase card its wise to try to buy the GC at certain stores like staples but if you are trying to meet thresholds on different cards like citi AA or us airways isn’t it more simple to just buy the cards on a website like giftcards.com where they emboss your name on it and it doesn’t say the words gift card? because i personally have been having difficulty’s purchasing them at stores in the tri state are. the fact id stores do not want to sell GC or OV with a credit card. (2 examples- i called a walgreens and they they take CC for GC and when i got there i was denied because they said there policy is to only accept debit or cash. another is i called a rite aid and they said know, called another and had to speak to a manager to give me approval, he said they don’t usually allow because they are worried about scams.not so simple
@db23:
Go to CVS.
Hi, thanks Dan! Do you know when this expires?
@Dan
With regard to comment 23, do credit card companies process purchases from websites like giftcards.com as “gift card” purchases and give no points for them? If they will still give 1 to 1 i am inclined to agree with him (when not using a ink card obviously). Its less than 6.95 including shipping and fees per $500 card. Any experience with purchases from them?
Dan – thanks!! How long does this deal run? Don’t see any good through dates..
@eater:
Why is that better than $4.95 for $500 from CVS?
@Ahron:
Dunno.
@Dan
I guess i would think for the same reason one would rather staples.com over driving to staples..
@eater:
That would be analogous only if Staples.com charged more than Staples, which it doesn’t.
If you’re scaling this, the extra price per mile starts to add up.
also, huge perk to this particular site, they let you personalize the face of the gift cards you order which removes a lot of suspicion from register clerks that know what every single gift card looks like already… and they send them to you with your name on it! I think the benefits are great if amex and chase will give 1 to 1
@eater:
Doesn’t matter when you unload online.
I hear you, im gonna go for a trial card and see what happens with coding.
Hey Dan,
I thought you can’t buy any more visa GC at cvs? Was I wrong? Just VR…? Are you still able to buy the $500 visa gift cards?
@eater:
I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.
@cvs?:
Just VR/MVD ($3.95 fee)
GCs work fine ($4.95 fee)
I’m not sure where to ask this question. I applied for the Starwood preferred card in the end of December on a link from your site thinking that I would get the 25000 bonus after spending $5000 in the first 6 months and now they are saying I only get 10000 for spending my 1st dollar but I don’t get the 15000 after spending 5000. Does this make sense?
Looking for suggestions what to buy @ Lowes.com for $60. I have the Amex $10 on $50 credit saved to 4 cards to stack with this $10 off of $50 deal.
@dan when I tried buying lowes gift cards with the promotion code is says “Purchase does not qualify for promotion” any ideas what to do?
@Dan: dan you wrote in line 33 that it doesent matter in regards to a gift card bec. they cant tell the differences online (bet. a gc and cc) but you said a few days ago that if i tried linking my GC to bluebird they will know and shut down my account?
Thanks Dan!
