Update 2: Alive again!
Update: Dead.

-6 Pack Enjoy Life Semi Sweet Mega Chunks, 10-Ounce: $20.70
These have excellent 4.7-4.8 star reviews on Amazon and both have just dropped in price this week. They are certified CRC parve.
After Trader Joe’s chips went dairy on us (anyone else still have a stockpile like me :D) these are the best parve real chocolate chips on the market today by a long shot. Because there’s nothing worse than chocolate flavored chips…

Looks like the price went back up, it’s 27.95
The chocolate chips are showing up as $27.95 for me. (the mega chunks are $20.70. Is there a code or something I’m missing?
Ahhhhh, if only they were kosher for Pesach – that would be a real deal!
Has anyone tried the 25lb box from reastaraunt depot? I have been pretty impressed with it.
@Nighthawk700:
Dead already.
@Mayer:
These are wayyyy better.
Trust me, I’ve done blind taste tests with several people already with lots of chip options.
are these cholov yisroel?
@henche: No, but they are hamotzi.
shoprite also have pretty good ones
@whYME: 1) For a fact I know that they are NOT Cholov Yisroel! 2) You can choose to say Hamotzi but only within the 30 days between Purim and Pesach.
On that note, I went to Whole Foods to see if I can buy them locally, they were there for 5.69 a package. I really miss TJ’s. Organic shirts and socks made in Indonesia (in the same place Wal Mart makes their stuff) are the only justifiable reason to shop there.
Yes Dan I still have my trader joes chocolate chips abt 50 or so bags left!
Dan how many tj chips did you buy? We got 365! No joke
Costco’s chocolate chips while bearing an ou-d symbol indeed are parve…and the current best tasting on the market.
Deals back on
nice deal. Has anyone seen the light version, if there is one…
@bh @Dan any word on the taste difference between Costco and Enjoy Life chips? I am a big fan of the Costco ones, and the resealable bag is great, though now I’m thinking that smaller bags might be better for freshness.
@Toby +1. If they did a pesach run of these I’d buy a dozen.
does it have a OU?
@bh:
Where can I find info on this? I can’t buy unless it’s verified.
BH:
where is that info (Costco Parve) from?
@Oren:
The Costco ones say OU-D, never had them.
@Samuel:
“They are certified CRC parve.”
The chunks are $28.49
@Tanskymom:
A whole lot more than that 😀
I also bought a lot of tj and keep them in the freezer but will not stay fresh forever.start using them.
Deal is alive again…just purchased
Thanks Dan- good find!!
@Oren: Oren according to this website http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/882617 costco choc chips are OU-DE
Thanks. Great for Hamantaschen!
I have tasted Kirkland chocolate chips from Costco, they are great, never had these. I wouldn’t use the Costco ones for baking because they are DE, and cannot be used with meat, and I would want to be able to serve to others who may be makpid on DE cholov yisroel.
Many items are labeled dairy that are not dairy, for various reasons, including, surprisingly, vegan veggie burgers I saw in Costco (certified by Chaf-K). Vegan by definition is dairy free.
At the risk of some ire, and with appreciation to Brandon, products that list allergen information and DO NOT list milk are dairy equipment. Meaning that you may eat it after meat (though not with meat.)
In the Costcos with the Kosher bakeries this means that the Apple pie and the Pecan pie indeed are parve and you may serve it for Shabbos dessert. Read carefully.
Please consult with your Local Orthodox Rabbi…
Dan, I know for you Keliem will still pose a problem so stick with your chocolate chips.
These are on sale again, check amazon!
