Tomorrow is the last day to trade in old electronics to Radio Shack for a gift card.
You get a $5 gift card for each item traded in.
I just went today and traded in the maximum of 5 items per person and got a $25 Radio Shack gift card.
I traded in a few airplane headphones and an obsolete modem and router.
Then I used the gift card to buy a $25 Amazon Kindle gift card which is good for anything sold on Amazon!
The process was surprisingly easy and it was nice clearing out some old junk!

They gave me a $25 Rat shack GC.
I picked up an Amazon Kindle GC and paid for it with the rat shack GC. No questions asked.
I highly doubt they would let you do that in NYC but I will try tomorrow and see.
@theberk I thought so to but I went to a radio shack in BK and had no issue and got the Amazon gift card no issues fast simple and got rid of 5 items that have been in my trunk for years thanks dan

What is eligible to bring into Radioshack? Is it things bought from them or anything electronic??

nevermind..they took down my license info to prevent ppl from going to multiple stores.
in NYC I was told the items needed to be things like cell phones and ipods. They rejected my earphones and cords etc.

I did it Fri in RS on 42nd t NYC. They ahd to look up the promo on the computer. Then they wanted to see if my palm treo, and other crap actually worked. I said I didnt bring the chargers and the batteries are dead. They accepted it. On was anLG ph with the famous broken hinge. First they said no but the mgr said WTF and took it. Asked for and GOT a RS GC. Next week I will trade it in for an AMzn gc. Took 15 min . 4 old phones, and 1 router card and got 25 bucks. Thanks! They took my license so I assume Im in the system and cant do another one.
I did it Fri in RS on 42nd t NYC to, 2 palm Centro 1 old canon sd1300 camera that doesn’t turn on, and another garbage old phone all without batteries, plus a wireless mouse missing the usb connection to computer, she asked for other part I said I can check if it left at home, she said its okay, I added the 5th $5 already!
Wow! Thanks, that was great! Traded in two defective Verizon routers, old bluetooth earpiece with no battery power, and two old alarm clocks. My wife traded in old Walkman and something else, they told us we could bring in anything as long as it powers on, including old calculators (!). Wonder what they’re going to do with that junk.
