Samsung laptops are the absolute best. However I can’t vouch for this particular laptop. A year ago the specs would have impressed me, but with the new fourth gen processors, I’m not surprised they’re clearing these out. For this price I would only buy if it was a touch screen. But it’s not. The old processor does not save battery, so you won’t get amazing battery life.

Look on the Microsoft store site for the Samsung ativ book 9 light. If you don’t care about the processor get that one for the same price and it has a touch screen.

$499 for an i7 is a great price.

I was making the comparison for people who know nothing about processors, and would never be able to tell the difference because all they do is browse dansdeals, lol. It’s true that it is an i7, but it’s a 3rd gen (ivy-bridge).. 20% of AMD is owned by Mubadala an investment arm of Abu Dhabi. Make your own conclusions of Intel (which invests in Israel) and AMD.

Excellent price. It seems like they’re giving away third gen i7’s lately. @Sam – there’s no optical drive on this either. Optical drives are going the way of cassette drives, floppy drives, iOmega drives….
