$95

With this offer you can bring another passenger with you on a one-way or round-trip paid ticket for just $122 ($99 fare plus taxes and fees from just $23). You can also use your credit card to book companion travel for 2 people besides for the cardholder.
This is valid anywhere that Alaska flies to, including Hawaii!
The companion will also earn their full flown miles for their tickets as Alaska still awards miles based on flight distance.
You’ll also get a $99 Companion Fare (plus taxes and fees from $23) each account anniversary after you spend $6,000 or more on purchases within the prior anniversary year. Valid on all Alaska Airlines flights booked on alaskaair.com.

Cardholders get 20% back on inflight food, beverage, and Wi-Fi purchases when you pay with your card.
Elite Status:
Throughout 2024, for every $10,000 you spend on purchases, you’ll automatically earn 4,000 elite-qualifying miles (EQMs), up to 20,000 EQMs total.

Alaska miles sweet spots:
Alaska’s award pricing on OneWorld partner airlines is typically excellent, and they also partner with other airlines like Aer Lingus, Air Tahiti Nui, Condor, Hainan, Icelandair, Korean, LATAM, Oman, Porter, Singapore and STARLUX.
Plus you can get a free stopover on one-way awards or 2 free stopovers on round-trip awards.
I’ll often get a value of 10 cents per mile when redeeming for a pricey last-minute domestic flight!

Do these points expire?
Nope!
even if i close the card?
downgrade path?
Is Alaska widely available as option out of NY/NJ area? Thanks!
They can book you on American and other OneWorld airlines.
Not great out of Newark… So if that’s your main airport, it’s not that great. As Dan points out you can book on American but American also is not good in Newark.
wdym not great/good out of Newark>
Is it true that you can’t get approved for any BoA card if you’ve opened 3 cards at any bank in the past 12 months?
I’ve heard there are looser rules if you have a bank acct at BoA, but without that, is this limit enforced?
I have no BoA investment/bank accounts and had 3 hard pulls in the last 4 months. They declined me, even after appealing and escalating to a manager.
Is this offer going to end anytime soon?
Asking the same
I want to finish another CC’s bonus spending before I open a new CC
AF stings and no way to pay the AF with miles like United offers?
$95 is a small price to pay for 15 flights!
Is there a simple way that this can be broken down to understand how to use the miles towards “15 flights”? Alaska only flies to 8 locations from JFk
Alaska books on OneWorld partners like AA. The breakdown is in the post, it’s 4.5K miles for short-haul flights.
do you know how quick the SUB is added to one’s acct after making the 3k purchases? Also any way to transfer from cards other then AmEx?
Free checked bag applies to partner airlines as well?
No.
No credit card offers that.
Correction:
It does give free bags if you spend enough.
I can’t remember the chart offhand (it’s on Alaska/OneWorld), but if you spend a certain amount with the card, it ups your membership at OneWorld and gives a checked back (plus more) on all partner airlines.
(I have 1 free checked bag at American for myself and companions with Ruby memberships, it ups to 2 free with gold).
That’s for earning status, that’s different than the free bags that cards advertise just for having them.
Aha!
Now I stand corrected 🙂
Is this from chase? I never get approved from chase?
No, Bank of America.
The award chart says “Starting At”.
Are AA redemptions widely available — including weekends, peak season, holidays, etc?
Not sure why it says starting at, but those are the fixed prices. I’ve booked dozens of tickets at these rates.
AA has wide open availability in my experience.
Any recommendations for another BOA card to MBM with this one?

What does 10% reward bonus mean? An additional 0.1 point per dollar spent?
Or .3 for 3x purchases.
I’d prefer 3.3 of course, but wouldn’t the 10% apply before the 3x (so 3.1x), rather than after the 3x (3.3x)?
Whats with the Alaska and Porter Airlines alliance? Can you book Porte airlines with alaska points?
I have been recently denied by chase for a new business card. I tried applying for this one and was denied as well. My credit score is over 800. What can I do to get approved??
Call Chase or BOFA reconsideration?
Opening a Chase or BOFA checking account will also help with approval.
Thanks. So do I apply a second time after opening a checking with them or call for re consideration?
Does it make sense to apply for the Hawaiian card and this one too?
Sure!
I suppose I should cancel my Bank of America “Flying Blue” card before applying for this one. The third or fourth time I used it, to pay the fees with an Air France mileage purchase, it wasn’t accepted. While I was finishing the booking with another card, they called me and asked if it was a fraudulent use. I told them no, and I couldn’t talk because I was trying to finish the purchase. Since then they have frozen the card. My mortgage is with BofA and I have had other cards with them, and my experience is always that they’re the world’s worst bank. Well, outside of Russia at least.
If we spend the 3k within the first few weeks, do we get the bonus right away or do we need to wait until the 90 days are up?
They will post on the statement close date after you meet the spending.
Thank you so much!
With my Hawaiin card, I got an email saying it may take 1/2 months for the spending bonus miles to post.
My hawaiin miles posted about a week after the statement where i hit the spending bonus criteria.
question about booking with Alaska — If I book a ticket on Alaska (AA metal for example) lax-bcn and it’s ‘coach’ can I upgrade with points and or money if business available later for those flights? Thanks.
So if I understand correctly, if you have a paid fair, then you bring a companion for 122 unlimited with your card if you have a miles redemption then you only get one companion pass to use a year with the card after spending $6000 is that correct?
Any way to get this higher offer if I just got the 60k offer any chance them matching it?
Doesn’t hurt to call and ask
Any downgrade options?? And what happens to the points if I cancel the card??
Does boa have any such 5/24 rules to know before applying?
Any idea from where they pull the credit report, I know Capital One pull from all three credit agencies
Just tried to book a last minute AA flight. It’s available in AA.com. But nothing comes up on Alaskaair for points. Am I missing something??
I don’t think you’re missing anything. Unfortunately, not all AA flights are going to be available to be booked with points. The companies determine which flights they want to make available. It’s hit or miss.
If i fly in business class, does my companion get business too?
or are all companion flights in economy?
Hey Dan,
What’s your go to for flights US to Israel?
For economy or business 🙂
Thanks Dan
Almost all AA last-minute flights are available. If there are just one or two seats left on a popular route, they will block them out. I just got four one-way business class last-minute seats to Miami for 15,000 points AA wanted 48,000 points or $800.
Awesome!
Thanks for sharing this great offer on flights!
Got rejected for this. And have run out of options with chase due to 5/24.
Honestly I feel a little relieved to be dropping (or blocked out) of this FOMO-driven churning game.
they denied me immediately because i have too many inquiries. I called them and asked them to move credit from a different recently opened boa credit card. they said they’ll ask the supervisor and then called me that I got approved bh!
When does the Alaska airlines credit card offer expire?
Applied from your link and approved!! TY!
Question: Can this be downgraded to a no annual fee cc after a year?
If not what’s the best option after a year if you don’t want to lose the miles earned but don’t need any other benefits from the card that makes it worth the annual fee?
applied and was denied. Does it make sense to call recon dept? what is their #?
Does the card offer no foreign transaction fee?
Yes, no fees.
When redeeming Alaskaair miles for AA flight, is it possible to input my AA FF# to get free check bags because I have AA citi card? Thanks!

Is there a post about bank rules? I want to know if I have a chance of being approved.
If I have this card (but have not received the bonus offer in over 24 months), can I close and apply and get approved?
I dont really need the card, just want the points. Can I spend 3k right away, wait for the points to post and then cancel the card and get my annual fee back?
You’re kidding, right?
@Dan- every time I try to purchase an AA flight using my Air Alaska miles, I get a notice of error: We’re sorry, we aren’t able to confirm space on these partner flights. Please try again and choose different flights, dates or cities.
any ideas? thanks
