Tierra Sur Groupon is not really special anymore.. First of all they only give $40 worth of cuisine compared to the $50 they gave in prior Groupons. Second they automatically charge 18% in gratuity to your order if you use the Groupon voucher. (I usually tip more than that anyway but I hate it when restaurants force it on you). Only thing you get free is the wine tasting which you pretty much get for free anyways if you buy a $10 bottle of wine. This groupon is not worth it and theres no real value in paying upfront for it and getting stuck with a voucher which essentially has the same value if you went without it. But it is worth going since the food there is amazing.

Oh and its funny how they show the same savings of 52% when the same percentage was used when they were offering the $50 in dining.

If they ever are of on their percent you can bring it up with Groupon.
I had that issue with Mendy’s that they say $115 worth but if you order the most expensive item in every category it doesn’t equal that. Even though I only brought it up to Groupon for them to fix it, they refunded my whole Groupon, after I already used it. I’m surprised that they still offer it the same way but it’s worth a free or discounted dinner if you’ll call in after. And who knows, they might fix it with enough complaints 🙂

Beware of Talia’s in NYC. They consistently get terrible reviews that match my and many of my friends’ experience there

Not that I like to defend Mendy’s, I have had my own poor experiences there, but I don’t see what you are saying.
looking at their menu you can get
two Entres of 20oz Rib eye Steak for $39.95
One appetizer of Chiken Sliders for $11.95
two drinks of $12 each (not able to comment on since not on menu)
That is a total of $115.85
so unless the drinks part doesn’t allow a $12 drink, how did you convince them your groupon didn’t work ?

Might be worth the try. I looked at the previous Groupon which Tierra Sur offered and they valued the wine tasting at $34. Now they are valuing the same wine tasting at $44.

The deal for tierre sur is not clear. What is the discount
If we just want the meal? How do we use the groupon

Kosher Deluxe in NYC is a great deal! Went tonight, after taking in a Broadway show (comped tickets). Got 2 huge pita sandwiches (1 shwarma & 1 shnitzel), 2 pints of soup (split pea & vegetable), & 2 cans of soda. They even let us fill our plates at the salad bar (chumus included), all for $22 (tax included)! No tip necessary, as there’s no waitstaff! So there you have it; Broadway show & dinner for 2 for $22! Thanks for the heads-up, Dan… it was a fun evening!

Oh, and I left out an important detail… the food was delicious!

Re: Tierra Sur. Excellent restaurant. Can only apply $50 to dinner, not full $80. So effective discount is only $10. Not worth going through the hassle.

Can mendys be used at any mendy location in NYC? Thanks
