Where did you find the information that Air Europa cancelled until 10/02?
Please read the beginning of the post again.
I booked Iberia for 10/15. What’s the chances they will rebook me if it gets cancelled?
As per magic 8 ball “outlook not so good”
@dan,
I have a flight ORD-MAD-TLV leaving the 7th; Do you think its going to take off? Any inside info; also in your experience would Iberia rebook on another airline or even elal if possible?
Even if they would rebook you think elal will have any seats?
Unlikely they will be able to find you seats on El Al even if they are willing. El Al is full on many dates.
My flight is October 6th flying to Israel with ITA. I wasn’t told it was canceled but now i am seeing ITA is starting 11/1. How do I find out if my flight was canceled?
It will soon be canceled.

https://www.ita-airways.com/en_il/fly-ita/news-and-activities/news/Tel-aviv-flights.html
Thanks for the information! Is there a chance of being rebooked else where? Or I’d need to rebook with another airline on my own. It’s very important for me to be there October 7th
Call them directly. I called them today. My flight, on 10/13, is still flying. Call to check on the status of yours.
They canceled my flight so now trying to figure out my options because they can only rebook me to Athens with a stopover in rome. Is your flight still good?
Dan, do you know anything about neos airline?
Have a ticket from Verona to tlv tomorrow.
Was wondering if anyone has any information on NEOS? Booked for Thursday before YK, from tlv to JFK thru Milano… Pls advise
Will not be operational
I have a flight on 10/1 from Paris to tlv and still showing on schedule
What about AF? It looks like they only cancelled until Sep 30, Just making sure that it’s only the next avail flight that’s 10/3 and not that until then everything is cancelled.
I have a flight with Virgin Atlantic from TLV to LHR on Oct 9. It is the day that Virgin Atlantic is supposed to start flying again. Should I assume that they’ll follow the recommendation and cancel? I would like to figure out alternate arrangements but only if I can get refunded.
i have a tarom flight for 9/30 showing as operational ?
“Note that earlier flights may be operational but aren’t currently available for purchase, check with your airline for the latest status.”
Where do I see on Air France’s Website? I tried searching and I couldn’t find the info.
the tarom website shows flight ro 155 as operational. my friend checked in by jfk on delta to cdg, and they checked in his bags to tlv [second ticket is separate ticket, cdg – otp -tlv]
“Note that earlier flights may be operational but aren’t currently available for purchase, check with your airline for the latest status.”
I have a Bluebird Flight on Tue Oct 1 ATH-TLV at 11:20 am, is my flight canceled?
“Note that earlier flights may be operational but aren’t currently available for purchase, check with your airline for the latest status.”
Trying to get in touch with the airline.. Does anyone know how can i reach Bluebird Airlines? or at least where to see the status of my flight?
Dan(iel) the modern day Navi of flights 🙂
Elal is your one and only safe bet these days folks! If you really want to get there… book elal. If you can.
Everything else is up for grabs and subject to the whims of the airlines.
Dan, what does this mean “Note that earlier flights may be operational but aren’t currently available for purchase.” What does operational mean? Are they going to be flying or canceling the existing flights for ITA between now and Sukkos? Thank you!
https://www.dansdeals.com/more/news/airline-news/current-next-available-flights-israel-40-airlines/#comment-1735028
I can buy now this on fly.ita-airways.com, so its not canceled?
New York – Tel Aviv Yafo
Departs on Tuesday, 8 October 2024
Arrives on Thursday, 10 October 2024
Status: Confirmed
USD 1,455.50
Flight number AZ 611
Flight number AZ 810
It is.
Why should they not take your interest free loan?
Bluebird: Athens-Tel Aviv on 10/1
dan does this mean their only flying from athens to tlv, i have a flight berlin to tlv sukkos time on bluebird airways if you can explain thank you very much
Flyone airlines is also currently flying. They offer flights to Yerevan
I had a ticket with AirFrance via CDG with second leg being LY222 (ELAL). Air France notified me that LY222 is canceled and rebooked me on AirFrance than canceled the AirFrance ticket. But looking at FlightAware we can see LY222 is still scheduled!
Is Emirates still flying TLV to Newark via Athens? I have a flight booked for Chol Hamoed
Emirates never flew from Athens to Tel Aviv.
I assume he is referring to the Emirates TLV to EWR via ATH, with the TLV-ATH leg a codeshare with Aegean. Pretty popular flight.
So the question is whether Aegean will fly, not Emirates.
Nobody can answer that.
Why is Aegean less known than other airlines? Are they a reliable airlines?
Huh? Whatever is written in the post is known.
So I have an Emirates flight, starting out with Aegean from TLV to Athens, on 10/22, then continuing to Newark on Emirates.
Is that going to go?
In the post your write about the other direction. Are both directions the same?
As I have experience with the Emirates-Aegean Flight, very likely that aegean will cancel and at the LAST MINUTE since they do rolling out cancellations. You should look for an Elal flight to athens as they can be cheap (144 USD one way) if there is availabilty….
Even though the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s made the recommendation airlines suspend service to Israel and Lebanon until 10/31- seems like most have them have not gone that far to cancel through till Oct 31.
Why should they not take your interest free loan?
I have my flights booked with ITA, on 10/13. I called them today. They told me that flights MIGHT be cancelled. They told me that my flight is still flying, as of today.
It’s cancelled. They’re just holding onto your money because they can.
Dan Is there anything we can do? My flight is October 6th and I called ITA and Chase who I used to book the flight. And they both told me the flight isn’t canceled so they can’t change my flight or refund. But I want to get on a new flight before it becomes crazy expensive.
Any word on Swiss? Right now they say they are flying on the 15th…
I have a flight on neos air on 10/7. did they cancel?
Yes they canceled
Where do u see that it was cancelled?!
was cancelled. They emialed me approx 12 hours after original flight time to lmk it was cancelled…kuukoo.
I just spoke to Virgin Atlantic and they said their legs into Tel Aviv have only instructions until flights to October 8. After that, the commercial policy has not changed regarding that route
Everything in this post is verified info.
Here is the company’s statement to DansDeals:
https://www.dansdeals.com/points-travel/israel/virgin-atlantic-pushes-back-return-tel-aviv/
Bluebird: Athens-Tel Aviv on 10/3
dan does this mean their only flying from athens to tlv, i have a flight berlin to tlv sukkos time on bluebird airways if you can explain thank you very much
No, that’s just their next available flight.
Air Europa cancelled thru 10/7
I have A Virgin Atlantic from London to Tel Aviv operated by El Al, is that included in the virgin Atlantic suspension?
Of course not. That’s just a regular El Al flight.
Dan, What does IsrAir flights “mostly operational” mean? Can it be relied on?
Some Arkia and Iarair flights are operated by EU leased planes that are not operating.
YMMV.
Is there any way to figure that out before I book?
I had my daughter booked on an israir flight from Rome the last week of October and it got cancelled. Couldn’t find any elal flights for that week so she’s going to have to fly the following week.
Any update with Aegean?
If there’s an update, it will be in the post.
FLYDUBAI JUST CANCELED ALL TOMORROWS FLIGHTS TO TLV
Anyone know what could be done if trying to use miles to fly to Israel next week?
For instance, what about if I flew to Athens with miles and then did El Al? Also what if one misses an El Al flight can you get a refund easily if you cancel before, like you could if you book United or AAdvantage with miles?
Great questions! I’m in the same boat Thinking about making it into an experience and spending a day in Athens and then flying to larnaca and catching a flight from there since tickets are more available and cheaper.
Is it safe to fly tus air or better to go on israir to go to larnaca?
Anyone have a recommendation for a flight agent that can get me on elals wait-list from Athens or larnaca:)
Does anyone know if the sapphire reserve provides for any sort of trip insurance for flights on El Al booked through chase travel? I would like to get a refund if possible or file an insurance claim (is there such a thing for a war zone?). I’m tired of these El Al vouchers and now they won’t even extend some of them. Would appreciate if someone can answer my questions. Thank you!
@dan what about KLASJET Flights operational like El Al?
Wizzair: Bucharest, Budapest, Larnaca, London/LTN, Milan, Sofia, Varna, Warsaw-Tel Aviv on 10/2.” does this mean their only flying from the above locations to tlv? or are they flying on all routes please be clear
bluebird airways athens to tlv on 10/2 means what exactly they wont fly berlin to tlv im not understanding thank you
How soon after an incident such as this one do airlines generally advise about changes to their schedules? If an airline hasn’t extended their cancellations yet, does that mean that they are unlikely to do so (as a result of the latest Iranian missles)?
Are there any updates to this post since 10/2?
Is Wizz airline currently flying in an out if israel?
is a LOT air flight for 10/30 to isreal reliable that it will not cancell?
AF just cancelled my flight on 10/13.
Same here.
I had a round trip flight in prem econ with Virgin Atlantic from TLV-JFK booked through Chase Ultimate Rewards using points. It was cancelled. After spending hours on the phone with Chase, they were able to rebook me on an El Al flight from TLV-JFK in prem econ and for my return flight they booked me on a flight from JFK-FLL-TLV in prem econ. The first leg of the return flight is operated by Delta and an extra legroom seat. The outbound flight is 6 days later than my original flight and the return flight is 5 days later than my original flight. I hope this helps!
@Dan would you reccomend going on a charter flight with Lalechet if not what are the possible risks?
Why don’t I see any nonstop flights from nyc to tlv with El Al after sukkot.. Oct 26,27,28, 29
Because they are sold out.
You can have a travel agent waitlist you for a seat.
Issta.co.il are selling flights nyc-tlv/return on chartered Eastern Airlines aircraft. They flights are already operating
Or book it on DansDeals for less:
https://www.dansdeals.com/advertisement/chartered-flights-israel-plus-exclusive-promo-dansdeals-readers/
But this post is for scheduled commercial flights, not charters.
No entry for BA?
It’s there
Bluebird: Athens-Tel Aviv on 10/15
i have a flight from berlin to tel aviv on bluebird does that mean it is cancelled?
I’m on this flight as well I’m confused as I got a what’s app that it is cancelled but no official email….
I just booked tickets through Tsibisili, Georgia (TBS) There are very cheap tickets from there on EL AL and many flights available. I did it though Chase. I got tickets going to Tsibisili from chase. (There are options from newark and JFK) and then booked EL AL from Tsibisili, Georgia.
There are many EL AL tickets from Tsibisili, Georgia also available on Chase
Is it really possible that there are essentially NO seats on ElAL flights NYC-TLV at all between Saturday Night October 19 and Wednesday night October 30 (returning by early AM November 5)?? I tried ElAl website and Chase travel. Might a travel agent have access to flights not on website or Chase travel??
Hard to believe there were not a host of cancellations because of the ‘situation’.
Is FlyDubai still flying out of TLV?
For April, only elal is a safe bet ?
Which miles is a good deal , direct, nyc – lca ? Ath ?
BA have cancelled till 3 Nov
Any idea on what to do if delta isn’t offering to rebook on elal ?
Mileage ticket and they’re not offering any sort of accommodation
Did you try calling their Israel offices?
Or chatting in the app?
Never did chat, was always transferred to global ticketing
And for Israel offices don’t know if they’re open now bec of holiday
Delta can only rebook if there is availability.
Elal flight showing alot of seats available… it’s not a overbooked flight and they’re selling the flight as well but thru revenue not miles
are they showing as available on delta.com for revenue or miles? if it isn’t then those seats are not available for delta to book it.
Also if there are 2 or less seats on elal’s site it will not be available on delta.
Yes they are showing available for revenue
I’m on the phone with them now and they’re saying they only protecting revenue customers with elal, miles not protecting and need to cancel
And that doesn’t make sense
Any update?
Luftansa group, Lot extend suspensions of flights to Israel
The Lufthansa group extended the suspension of its flights to Israel from October 31 to November 10, according to flight cancellation notices sent to customers. The Polish company Lot also extended the suspension of its flights to Tel Aviv, until November 12.
Seems that AIR France is back up. They flew today, 10/20
French airline Air France announced late Monday it will delay its return of flights to Israel to October 28 amid security tensions in the area.
NO BA TILL APRIL 2025
I know nothing is guaranteed but you do think my best bet would be to use United points if I wanted to speculatively book a flight from TLV to NYC. I see a good option on Aegean through Athens. From what I can tell asides from the Israeli airlines that seems to be one of the most likely foreign airlines to be flying. I need something I can cancel if need be. Any better options with Chase points?
I already have a flight on LY booked using Alaska Miles which I can cancel but can’t switch days. This I will likely not be using as I would prefer the other day that I’m looking to book now. No reason to cancel my ticket on LY so I’m keeping it until the day before the flight in April.
The multiple chartered flights by lalechet from New York should get a honorable mention..
https://www.dansdeals.com/advertisement/chartered-flights-israel-plus-exclusive-promo-dansdeals-readers/
If you booked an El Al ticket using Delta miles, does the Delta cancelation through 3/31 impact that? I’ve gotten conflicting responses from the Delta customer chat
No
Can i check my bags through from tlv-ath- ewr . Arkia to emirates?
I checked the website airfrance.com and the flights from and to tlv are confirmed as cancelled till oct. 30
In light of the current escalations, i am debating whether to take my 11/10 flight via EL Al. What are the current options if I choose to not use this ticket? I also was going to take an israir flight to Eilat from TLV upon landing. Will they refund my ticket?
Where did you see the announcement about Israir planning to fly TLV-LON?
They’re now bookable.
Which Airline is flying besides elal from any European city ?
Look for the blue in this post.
Do you know if Bees airline from Tel Aviv to Bucharest are flying
My daughter and friend were supposed to fly from DC on ITA to TLV with a short stopover in Rome 10/9 . It was cancelled and they didn’t can take up to 2 months for a refund. We rebooked them to fly Emirates to Dubai and on Expedia Elal to TLV and then 10/27 Arkia to Dubai with a return on Emirates. (That whole thing. Was cheaper than ITA). Yesterday the Arkia flight was delayed over 2 hours and they couldn’t get on the Emirates flight to DC. (Have to get luggage and go thru security again etc) . Thank Gd the girls were with adults on this leg of the trip. They got Emirates to Boston 7 hours later and then a flight today from BOS to BWI. Costing an extra $700! Whole thing was nuts and wondering how we could have done this better
Did you ask ITA to keep the DC – Rome and Rome – TLV leg and get Elal from Rome
How would I know if air france will not cancel flights after Nov. 1st ? Gamble?
Don’t count on it operating.
Air France flights cancelled on Oct 30th – suppose they will be pushing that back to their planned later date. Though would not hold your breath.
Now through 11/5 (official) or 11/12 (unofficial), post has been updated.
I have a flight jfk-Cdg-tlv on 11/17 what are chances it will be flying?
I Have a 11/13 flight JFK-CDG-TLV what are the chances it will actually fly? Delta telling me if the CDG-TLV part is canceled they will cancel my entire ticket, is that true?
So El Al is currently the only airline with direct flights to the US?
We need Trump back to restore peace in the region and then flights will be restored. So everybody pray hard and get out and vote!
Hi Dan if I book air france from TLV – CDG – jfk throught Delta will they rebook on elal if cancelled
Anyone have experience flying air europa?
I was also told that the only truly reliable flights are with elal, flights could get cancelled w/ arkia or israir and customer service will leave you hanging. Any truth to that?
TIA
Just came back yesterday with Air Europa from from TLV with overnight stop in MAD.
Awesome, how was the overall experience with air europa? Would you do it again?
For the price i paid it was worth it.
Booking Air France to TLV in January – if they cancel do you think I can count on them rebooking me to ELAL (assuming availability)
Probably will NOT
Has anyone flown through Bucharest? Thinking about it as its less then $6k for 5 people. United to Bucharest, Elal to TlV.
United doesn’t fly to Bucharest.
Their partners do. Im looking via their app
AA CANCELLED MARCH FLIGHTS TO TLV
After speaking to AA yesterday bec my flight on March 31st was canceled, they said they don’t have any more direct flights on schedule to TLV, i checked google flights till end of Sept of 2026 and AA is no longer a option to book
I booked Aegean TLV-ATH that they canceled. To their credit, the refund came very quickly. In its place, I booked Israir for a very reasonable price, around $100.
Just as an FYI, which I hope will help some travelers. I am booked on elal 28 from Newark 11/10. Even though there shows no availability for this flight anywhere, when I look to change my seat, it shows 29 open seats on the flight.
it looks as though I may have to cancel for a back injury. Does anyone know the best way to get a refund instead of a voucher?
Back Injury? get a Dr. letter, should help.
Does your cc have insurance?
Yes. I also now see ELAL is offering vouchers for flights thru 11/28.
thank you.
Do you know about BEES airline from TLV
To OTP Bucharest
they fly 4 times a week Sun Mon Wed Thu
also fly to Suceava SCV twice a week Sun Wed
Best ways to use points for flight to Europe in economy? Figured to pay $ to fly from Europe to tel aviv on el al.
Depends on dates and what kind of points you have. I’ve been looking at American and at Delta using Virgin Atlantic points.
Try lifemiles
As of today (2024-11-03): Is El Al the only airline currently providing service between Israel and the US?
Did you read the post?
Yes, did you?
I read the post originally posted on 9/29, and the updates posted on 9/30, 10/1, 10/16, 10/21/, 10/28, and 11/3.
None of them say anything about current service from the US to Israel.
See the most recent update?
Perhaps I was naïve in searching for “USA” and “US” and “United States,” because the relevant comment only mentions “North America.”
Given how few airlines are currently serving Israel from anywhere (even places outside North America), it would be great if the article could have pinned to the top a list of all Airlines currently flying to Israel.
Under normal times, it probably wouldn’t be practical to create such a list, but I suspect nowadays the number of airlines flying to Israel can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
I have 4 tickets on BA – TLV-LHR-JFK – for Apr 1 (first leg of the round trip ticket). As of now, they cancelled flights from TLV until Mar 30. The tickets were sold as non-refundable. Any suggestions on if it would be possible to push for a refund now – or do I need to wait until they cancel those days, too (if they do continue pushing off the start)? Thanks.
is air france flying out now of tlv? as of 11.3.24
Info is in the post.
Looks like af pushed off Cdg-tlv to November 21st
correct. and LO pushed off until November 28
Is lalechet still flying?
If it’s canceled through 11/12 but the next flight is 11/21 is my flight on 11/19 going ?
Highly unlikely.
So why won’t they cancel it already? Why would they pull the flights but not cancel? @dan?
Just had Delta Change my flight from JFK-CDG-TLV to JFK-ATH and then I had to buy a separate ticket for ATH-TLV wasn’t offered any sort of refund or compensation even though they physically couldn’t get mw e to Israel.
I had a direct Delta flight from JFK to TLV and Delta changed it to an El Al codeshare.
They changed my return to Elal but on the way there they told me there weren’t any seats available.
I see a flight new York to Tel Aviv on 11/5 the first flights are ITA but the last leg from Athens is Bulgaria operated by Aegean it says here that neither are flying does this mean it is fake?
would you recommend flying with iberia? the second leg is el al.
Sure why not
Tip: Using your browser’s search function to search this page for US, USA, United States, or Canada won’t help.
If you’re looking for flights from the US or Canada, search this page for “North America.”
@dan
So i had flights for Pesach on aa.com on miles – at 30K direct. (I knew they would cancel, and actually booked el al via your jetblue hack). AA didn’t email me, but reservations cancelled (showed up flight credit section).
I chatted online and asked what my rebooking options were. Without my consent, they just cancelled for refund. You think i shoudl follow a DOT complaint? they didn’t seem to honor statement of rebooking. I have the whole chat history.
thx
Guys, stop harassing airlines for compensation, re booking , DOT. Airlines are tired of it. They will not renew Israel flights exactly bc of that. Article on y net. They can’t afford all requests for “rebook me elal “, compensate me. They can not . So book with what’s available, or if you take a chance pls do not harass airlines , or they will not be available in the future for TLV. We all lose .
Very wise words but sadly a tough sell here.
Interesting. Can you post the Ynet article? I can’t find it.
Iberia just canceled my flight on dec 3. Tlv to MAD. Was booked thru AA.
Looks like Aegean just pushed back their date to resume. Just had my connection for 11/21 in ATH disappear.
Air France claims they are still flying 11/13/2024. are the agents mis informed?
Both the next available date and the canceled status are in this post.
I would assume it will be canceled in the coming days. But they don’t cancel because they reserve the right to operate and this way they can hold onto your money longer.
Just booked with Hi Sky via Bucharest for December/January. Cheapest I could find without switching airlines and claiming luggage and rechecking in Europe.
Was it that much cheaper than LY? The connection times seem kinda long
1300 round trip vs 2300 for El Al
@dan why didn’t airfrance cancel from the 12-21 of Nov yet? Are they plan on flying ?
I would assume it will be canceled in the coming days. But they don’t cancel because they reserve the right to operate and this way they can hold onto your money longer.
Wonder why the diverted Air Europa flight didn’t just return to MAD. I assume fuel?
Emirates does not fly Dubai to/from Tel Aviv; their subsidiary FlyDubai continues to fly between TLV and Dubai!
Being a platinum in el al does that give me anything flying air france from tlv to yul with stop in paris?
Yes, especially if it’s the same ticket you’ll get luggage benefits
Will airlines start flying again when Trump becomes president if things calm down?
If its dependent on Trump why mention the calm, if its the calm, why mention Trump?
saying good!!
Hi Dan
What about royal air maroc?
What’s strange Is ITA still showing flights to and from Israel next week.
Their essentially getting zero interest loans. Not so nice.
Had our post-pesach flights back to miami cancelled… Virgin still has not come up with rebooking options (one would think they would have had that pretty much figured out before they cancel flights that are 5+ months out). I spoke with Virgin agents both yesterday after seeing this post and today after getting the cancellation email, and they said they can’t do anything until Virgin issues its rebooking policy for these cancellations. Anyone have insight on if they can/will rebook premium class tix on elal business? Anything I can/should do now – or do I need to just wait for them to figure things out?
lot has postoned even further
does anyone know if LOT cancels would they try to rebook me on elal
