Our ultimate protection is the iron dome??
Mezuzah is the ultimate protection. I don’t see anything else implied in this ad.
i do
“Now this is something like you’ve never seen before – the ultimate “protection” for your home”
we all have mezuzahs already we’ve seen them before
disgusting
First of all, I am positive a good percentage of Jewish readers on here do NOT have mezuzahs.
Second of all, it’s literally in quotes, playing on the fact that it’s a mezuzah.
You are taking that line way out of context imo.
Sounds like the PC police to me, getting triggered by something you are choosing to interpret in the worst way possible when a much simple understanding is obvious.
It was in all honesty a poor choice of words on the advertisers part.
In JJ’s Defense, I don’t think it’s the poor choice of wording that’s wrong here. The wording is describing the product as for what it’s trying to portray.
Rather it’s the product itself that’s wrong.
A mezuzah symbolizes protection direct from Hashem, the iron dome symbolizes protection through military means.
I think a more befitting item would be to inscribe mezuzah designs on the iron dome to show that our “ULTIMATE” protection is Hashem, even while shooting iron domes.
+1
Sorry JJ, i agree with yp. not written well.
I assume that the actual mezuzah scroll is not included, but either way, it should probably say so.
The option to purchase the mezuzah scroll is on the item page
Yes. I’d rather the heading was “Mezuzah HOLDERS Made From Iron Dome Missiles”
Good idea. Added.
Doesn’t look like the case actually protects the parchment from the elements. Quite expensive for only 10 percent to go to help Israel… I would have expected at least 50 percent….
How do they write a Mezuza on a piece of metal?
excellent question
I read that the Chabad minhag is to not use metal mezuzah cases because metal is used for war. Kal v’chomer, an actual part of a missile.
https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/312461/jewish/The-Laws-and-Customs.htm#The
“It seems clear that the masters of Kabbalah did not encourage the use of mezuzah cases made from metal or leather.”
My Ashkenazi blood abhors the symbolism of faith connected to war.
My sephardic blood would like a a mezuzah from remnants of some Gazan terrorist’s house that was blown to shreds
Is this suitable for outside — the last picture on the website seems to show the Klaf pretty exposed
Yes! The Klaf is covered by a hard protective cover.
