Last month Hilton integrated Autocamp into their program.
And now Hyatt is integrating Under Canvas into their program, as part of the Mr. and Mrs. Smith program.
These glamping-style accommodations are typically located near national parks. You can find them in places like Acadia, Bryce Canyon, Glacier, Grand Canyon, Smoky Mountains, Moab, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Zion, and more.
Unfortunately, the Hyatt point values for Mr. and Mrs. Smith properties are quite poor, though at least you can earn Hyatt points on paid stays.
For example:
- A Stargazer covered deck at Under Canvas Bryce Canyon (one of my favorite National Parks!) on 8/18 costs $528 or 40,250 points, a value of 1.3 cents per point. Or splurge for a Hoodoo Suite for 94,250 points or $1,168, a value of 1.24 cents per point.
- A Deluxe covered deck at Under Canvas Grand Canyon on 8/18 costs $386 or 28,250 points, a value of 1.37 cents per point. Or splurge for a Suite with a kids tent for 51.5K points or $645, a value of 1.25 cents per point.
- A Deluxe covered deck at Under Canvas Zion on 8/18 costs $340 or 26K points, a value of 1.31 cents per point. Or splurge for a Stargazer with a kids tent for 40,250 points or $523, a value of 1.3 cents per point.
- A Deluxe covered deck at Under Canvas West Yellowstone (another of my favorite National Parks) on 8/18 costs $592 or 47K points, a value of 1.26 cents per point. Or splurge for a Suite with a kids tent for 74.5K points or $913, a value of 1.23 cents per point.
Will you book any glamping trips this summer? What are your favorite national parks?

Dan, I want to be adopted into your family! You’ve been to the most beautiful places; AND you’re quite the photographer, too!
Get on the waiting list 🙂
😀
I call shotgun!
Nice idea, but the pricing is stupid. You can “glamp” under canvas in Kruger National Park for about $100. But US hotel prices are now among the highest in the world, so I guess it’s not surprising.
Dan stunning pictures. You need to write a post please on photography. Were these pictures taken on your phone or on a professional camera?
Thanks!
All are taken on Samsung Galaxy phones, except the Arches picture which was on a Sony A6500.
I am far from a pro and don’t have any real tips, other than keep taking pics until you’re happy with the picture’s composition.
Time of day is also important.
Are we paying 500+ dollars a night to camp out under a……canvas????
Dan, what’s your favorite national park? Btw any veterans are eligible for free national park pass. I got the lifetime pass for price of shipping.
