Department stores like Kohl’s, Macy’s, and Nordstrom always offer returns at any time.
Of course credit cards also give extended returns:
-The Chase Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card® Card gives you 90 days to return items up to $500.
-American Express cards like the Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express or the American Express® Premier Rewards Gold Card give 90 days to return items up to $300. It might be $200 less than Sapphire but AMEX is really great about filing and honoring claims and they typically reimburse and allow you to keep items under $100 (sometimes even more) without having to return them.

Does amex go after the companies, or do they just eat the loss ?
@Tim:
They eat return, warranty, and purchase protection claims.
They go after the store only if you file a dispute.
Staples Laptops, are they 14 days or extended?
B&H Photo Extended holiday return:

Its the small, innocuous Q&A that happened between Tim and Dan that makes the site, and Dan in particular, so great. After 28,339,692 hits he still answers a random guy’s question for no other reason than the fact that it was asked. Bravo.
just curious why dan will not mention apple on his site?😄
Does Amex return protection apply to restocking fees to?
Let’s say the store excepts the return, but charges a 15% restocking fee

I have a SP card. I did not know about the return protection policy, but after looking it up online – it seems to stink. Anyone have any experience with it?
If you buy and return, but already got the miles or points , can the miles or points get clawed back?
If Chase also has a return protection which is even a greater amount then Amex 500 verse 300 then y does everyone go nuts over Amex ?? R there any big differences or just less hassle with Amex ?
Nordstrom rack is usually 30 days. it’s now extended through 1/31
Side note:
They’ll usually accept items after 30 days but you’ll only get credited the current selling price even with receipt.
