Be sure to only use certified eclipse glasses from brands found here. Eclipses can cause a lifetime of blindness if you don’t use proper protection, so be sure not to use any cheap knockoffs!
If you are in a location with totality, you will need to remove your glasses for the duration of the total eclipse.
You can view the exact path and totality times here. You’ll want to be as close to the blue line as possible for maximum totality duration.

There are some communities that are offering eclipse glasses for free. For example my hometown:
“Residents may pick up their glasses at Orange Village Police Department, 4600 Lander Road – Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Please bring photo identification.”
Fingers crossed for clear skies!
Just make sure you get the real thing, and not some cheap knock-off. You only get one pair of eyes…
Dan, which glasses are you using?

I still have a pair from the last eclipse that I got for free at Public library. May be worth looking into, and share with neighbors/friends when viewing the eclipse.
I got this five pack when it was originally posted. The lens itself is fine and works well. The issue is the frames are very flimsy and hard to fit onto my face and keep in position so definitely wouldn’t recommend for kids.
ordered. thanks big dan!
Free in NYC. Available at NY public libraries. At least that’s what I heard on the news this morning.
