From 1/1/24-3/31/24, Marriott and United top-tier elites registered for the Marriott-United partnership can earn additional perks.
- Marriott Ambassador Elite members who complete at least $4,000 on flights operated by United or United Express during this promotional period will receive 40 PlusPoints, which will be valid through 1/31/26.
- That’s enough PlusPoints for an upgrade from coach to business class on a long-haul flight, subject to availability. United normally only gives PlusPoints to Platinum or higher elites, so this is an opportunity for other members to have PlusPoints. Marriott Ambassador and Titanium Elites always earn United Silver status as part of this partnership.
- United Premier 1K and Global Services members will earn three Suite Night Awards (soon to be known as Nightly Upgrade Awards) by spending $3,000 at Marriott Bonvoy properties during this promotional period, which will be valid through 12/31/25.
- Learn more about SNAs here. SNAs are confirmable 5 days before a stay, subject to availability. They will soon become NUAs, which will be valid at more hotels and room types but will only be confirmable 3 days before a stay, subject to availability. United Gold elites and higher always earn Marriott Gold status as part of this partnership.
You can always earn United status via United spending or Marriott status with Marriott cards and spending.
The full terms for this offer will be published here on 1/5/24.
Will you try to earn either of these offers?

Nothing for platinums ?
If I’m a United Silver, is it worth trying to spend $4k on flights to get the 40 pluspoints? What’s the effective value of the pluspoints?
Thanks as always for all this great information!
Depends on the route.
For TLV, the cost to upgrade from a W fare to business would be 40 PlusPoints or $550+35,000 miles, subject to availability.
I don’t fly every week, but I have never seen plus point upgrades available on any flights I’ve taken.
It exists, but you can always waitlist.
I just got 6 upgrades done. But GS space for PlusPoints is much more open.
There are excellent paid tools for finding PZ and PN space if you’re flexible.
Mind sharing a few?
Got it, thanks!
