I received an email from Marriott today with the subject “Unwrap Your Holiday Escape for 20% Less.”
Search your email to see if you received that as well!
The email contains a one-time use code for 20% off up to $3,000 of Marriott eGift Cards.
The largest eGift card size is $2,000, so you’ll have to buy at least 2 eGift cards in one order to maximize the savings for $600 off $3,000:
The code expires at 11:59pm ET on 12/16.
Purchases on Marriott cards like the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Consumer Card, the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Consumer AMEX, and the Marriott Business AMEX will earn 6 points per dollar spent.
As the gift card posts as a travel purchase, you would also be able to get reimbursed from the purchase from the Chase Sapphire Reserve® $300 travel credit or Citi Prestige $250 travel credit.
Did you get an email with a 20% off code?
Will you stock up on gift cards for future travel?

But not 6x putting the purchase on the Ritz?
I think if it is travel it should work on all of it
I have a couple of reservations that are booked with a card. Can I change the payment method. Do you just use these when you get to the hotel?
As long as you didn’t prepay, you just use these at the hotel.
Thats awesome. I got the email
Thx
It’s not common, but it has happened: not all desk clerks know how to apply the gift cards and, if the manager is not on site, it may take some time for them to figure out. Give yourself some extra time at the checout.
Good you posted this. I had already relegated said email to the trashbin without opening it.
Lol did the same thing
Are these regular Marriott charges that show up X6 points per dollar?
Read the post?
I rushed to sign up for email offers, I hope I would get it. I doubt. Just finished my gift cards from the 2020 promotion.
can you use it to purchase points?
Thanks ! Totally missed this as a garbage email
Yup, very dumb subject.
Do we know if it posts as hotel or travel agency?
I.e is citi prestige going to earn 3x or 5x
Good morning Dan,
How do we know these purchases will be bonused on the Marriott cards?
the language in my email reads,
“Card Members are eligible to earn Marriott Bonvoy® points for the online purchases of Marriott branded eGiftCards made on the Card Member’s Marriott Bonvoy® credit card as outlined by their Card Member Agreements.”
That hardly promises they’ll be correctly categorized for bonuses.
Also, the URL https://wwws-usa2.givex.com/cws4.0/marriottprcom/e-gifts/? , not Marriott proper…?
Because I have bought them before.
Thanks Dan.
To be clear, you’ve bought from that same URL? It resolves to https://web.givex.com/ That purchase platform has no obvious affiliation to Marriott.
GiveX handles all of the Marriott eGCs and has earned 6x in the past.
Thanks, that’s interesting.
Do you know if it posts as travel/hotel?
Would appreciate folks sharing data points on the merchant code categories for this.
Are points redemption still cheaper than 20% list price?
never got the email 🙁
anyone not using their one time code and would like to give it to me. I would appreciate it.
Any idea whether purchases of Marriott gift cards will count for the $4000 for the free 85K certificate? I had been under the impression that “Eligible Purchase” for AMEX purposes does not include gift cards.
Do you think I can combine this with the Amex offer to spend at a Marriott $250 to get $75 back?
Wondering the same thing. Should work if it truly posts as “marriott”, but I haven’t been able to find any data points confirming, and the offer ends today.
Got Enjoy 20% off eGiftCards. Second email for ‘Reserve your stay by Sunday at select hotels and resorts across the U.S., Canada, Caribbean, and Latin America, and receive a credit of up to $300 for stays over the next four weekends.* Use your credit toward world-class golfing, award-winning dining, tranquil spa experiences, and more.’
Anyone have the offer and not using it?
Really need the promo code. Someone if you don’t need please DM me
