Delta has released some nonstop saver economy award space between JFK and Tel Aviv for January and February flights to their partner airlines, which is usually hard to come by.

It’s worth noting that Delta has canceled flights to Israel through January 5th, so these flights might not operate. In that case, you would get your points back, but your points would then be with Virgin and wouldn’t be returned to the bank.

Virgin has an awesome beta award calendar here that makes it easy to find dates with award space by manipulating the URL. It tells you exactly how many seats are available in each class on every date. And no, there’s no space in any class but coach.

JFK to/from Tel Aviv flights cost 35K Virgin Atlantic points, 40K Air France Flying Blue miles, or 80K Delta miles each way.

There are no fuel surcharges for these flights.

You can get a 30% bonus for mileage transfers from Chase to Virgin Atlantic through 11/15, so 27K Chase points would turn into 35,100 Virgin Atlantic points

JFK to Tel Aviv valid dates:
January 12, 25, 26, 27
February 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 11, 12, 18, 21, 23, 28

Tel Aviv to JFK valid dates:
January 13, 16, 18, 23, 26
February 1, 2, 4, 6, 12, 15, 20

As events in Israel continue to unfold, we are diligently exploring every means possible to assist our customers affected by these events. We want you to know that your safety is our paramount concern, first and foremost, and that you are in our thoughts.

We have made the difficult decision to cancel all flights through February 5, 2024, between Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). As cancellations are processed, impacted customers will receive notifications delivered to the contact information listed in your reservation, and also via the Fly Delta app. Contact our reservations team for assistance with rebooking, changing your travel to another destination, or requesting a refund. Seats on Delta airline partners remain bookable on delta.com and through Delta Reservations when available.

Delta’s waiver for travel booked to or from TLV allows customers to rebook on available flights through September 6, 2024. The waiver also allows customers who would like to cancel their travel to request refunds via the Fly Delta app, delta.com, or by calling Delta Reservations at 800-325-8847.

We are continuously monitoring the security situation in the region, and will make additional schedule adjustments, including rolling cancellations, as needed. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted, and we thank you for your patience and understanding as we make decisions in the best interest of our customers and crews.
