Travel from Philadelphia to Chicago on USAirways and then from Chicago to Beijing on American. If you want more miles you can also find flights with extra connections.
Orbitz allows cancellations until 10pm CT the day after you book. Normally those cancellations are free but in this case the fare involves both USAirways and American and multiple airlines trigger a small service fee.Ā If you cancel online that fee won’t be waived but people have had success cancelling over the phone and getting the agent to refund the Orbitz service see as well.
Sample valid date: 02/17-02/24.
Read about using ITA Software to use their awesome month-long calendar search to help find dates with cheap flights.
You can also find tickets from Philadelphia to Shanghai for $552. Sample valid date: 03/03-03/10.

Are there minyanim in china?
Found on http://matrix.itasoftware.com/ as Dan mentioned.

Please not China requires US citizens to obtain a visa before arrival in China.
Visas are $140 per person i believe. Add this to cost of your trip!
Not positive but I believe they are more like $30 – $40. No where near $140 for a tourist visa.
@Dan’s the Man:
There is a Chabad in Beijing where you can daven, join for Shabbat, eat in their restaurant and ship food from their restaurant to other cities in China.
@Anonymous: Check out http://www.china-embassy.org/eng/hzqz/zgqz/t84246.htm- sorry it was $130.
What are the chances this will be as refundable as the $461 Israel tickets?

@Etienne @ Vixen Hill Gazebo Kits:

Hi Dan…is this still alive? How would I try to book it? Multi city? What dates?
I’ve tried doing this multiple times but to no avail , any advice?
@Anonymous:

@AsherO:
Anything is possible. Never book a deal unless you can afford to lose the money. Its one of the risks you take
@Ben:
If you got cancelled, send a complaint to DOT.
