The airlines that fly to Tel Aviv know good and well when they can charge exorbitant prices and block out all “saver” mileage seats. I was just able to land a saver BusinessFirst ticket for a friend to go from Cleveland to Israel for Pesach from 04/10-05/06 for just 100,000 Continental miles and $35 in tax! To buy the ticket would have been about $5,000, so he got an excellent value of 5 cents per mile.
These mileage seats will probably be gone very soon, so book now! You are able to go coach in one direction and BusinessFirst the other. Listed availability is as of the time of this posting only and will change rapidly!
You may be able to book Continental travel on these dates with miles from other Skyteam alliance partners such as Air France/KLM Flying Blue, Delta, and Northwest. Continental tickets to Israel booked via Flying Blue are just 25,000 miles each way (or 20,000 Starpoints), but Flying Blue tacks a fuel surcharge onto award tickets that the US based airlines do not.

dan over 100,000 starpoints and want to book now for succos, you have to bol now to get seats so how do Ido it, I already have a lan account and was wondering what you suggesy, I live in lkwd so my dep city is very flexible. PHL<JFK EWR<LGA<ACY any of those would easily work for me. thanks
these are wonderful deals for those that have all that extra time before and after yt!
April 10-May 1st gets you there just a week before pesach and gets you back the same week that Pesach ends.
Continental would have to be crazy to give away seats closer than that as they are worth their weight in gold…
Chaim-Look at SBS’s Starwood Israel pdf and start checking availability! Now may not be the best time to book mileage tickets for then anyway…
I have CO Gold status and put 2 BF tickets (April 10-May 6) on hold for 100,000 Continental miles and $33 tax each.
Is there any way of getting them cheaper via Starpoints?
hey all i dont have any continental miles but i do have 80k starwood and would love to be in the holy land for pesach and travel in style! it seems that it would cost 90k flyingblue miles to book a ticket flying business on continental to tlv. i am not elite but i do see business tickets on continental from april 8 till may 2. the problem is the flight on may 2 gets into newark at 450pm on friday and shabbos is at 736pm. i live maybe 30 minutes from ewr, is this too risky to go for?
Dave:
It looks like you’ve got tickets that were available only because you are have Continental elite status.
Although you may save some miles by going through Flying Blue, you wouldn’t be able to get those dates on a partner carrier.
Ben:
Sounds very risky to me! Not a good idea.
I bought the sd card that you posted on March 18 and downloaded the rebate form. Now I see that the rebate is only for things bought by the seventeenth. Their site also showed the rebate and the file name is dated as until the eighteenth. How do I go about this considering that I already used it. I now see that someone mentioned this in a comment on that post after I had placed my order.
Try returning it-it was a mistake on buy.com’s website that they listed the rebate after it expired.
You can also call up the credit card company and file a chrageback against buy.com if they wont let you return it.

What can be gained by waiting?
