Will Starwood offer me Platinum to match this status in this program
can you get starwoods to match for their platinum level
This is not a platinum account that can be compared to the Starwood platinum. The hyatt program that can be compared to that would be the Diamond club.
can this be used on an existing Hyatt account?
You should know that if you ever do get a status match, you can never get it again.
Dear Dan,
I’m looking for a ticket from SFO to JFK, on March 23, know if any sales are coming up?
if you do a comparison with starwoods they say you will prob get gold status, the only real benefit is that you will receive 3 starpoints for every dollar spent excluding taxes at a starwoods hotel
Well if Hyatt Platinum is equal to Starwood Gold, then this is practically worthless.
I made an offer on priceline at a westin hotel in Chicago. I paid $176 for 2 nights when if I would have gone through starwood each night would have been $244. I then called the hotel and told them I am a starwoods member and inquired about an upgrade. I ws told it is up to each individual hotel as to if they want to accept my status to give me the upgrade since I made my reservation with priceline. I read the rules and regulations of starwood and didnt notice anywhere that one has to pay full price to get upgraded. is this the case?.
thanks
p.s.
I am a starwood gold member and my starwood amex is extremely active:-)
Getting into the program is easy because they make it easy w/ their “double stay status” & “always discount offers.” If u travel 2x/yr during the “double promo” u can keep your Plat tier. They say that Starwood is the best but they don’t seem to have as many deals. Even the upscale Hyatt hotels give great deals. I’m still trying to find my way into the Starwood system.
well i just got upgraded to gold status in starwoods for whatever its worth this is what they emailed me “Thank you for taking the time to fax in your Platinum Level credentials with Hyatt Gold Passport. At this time we are only matching the highest elite status with Hyatt Gold Passport which is their Diamond Level. As a result, we will not be able to meet your request of upgrading your Starwood Preferred Guest account to the Platinum Preferred Level. However, I will upgrade your account to the Gold Level as a goodwill gesture. You will receive a Gold Level card in approximately eight weeks.”
