I wanted to get them last time the offer was around but I don’t know where I can try them out besides a W hotel. Any suggestions?
Anyone ever buy the king? how long ago and how did it hold up?
Do the box springs come with a metal frame underneath?
Are they firm?
Any info on how the Full holds up? Is there a trial period with free return?
@artee: ALL MATTRESS SALES ARE FINAL-NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES.
anyone has experience with the pillows?do they hold up? if not will amex return protection cover them?
@Dan: why are the mattress price on the W website different than the ones that you posted? Even with the 40% off

Have the full pillow top for 5 years, still very comfortable, it might have gotten a little softer, but still happy with my purchase, if u want to try it out u can it is made by simmons the beautyrest line,
I’ve had the plush top with a separate featherbed since 2008 and it’s still awesome.
Again, anyone know where we can try out the bed?
Thanks!
@LA2NYC:
Comment 10 already told you, they’re basically Simmons Beautyrest, go to any sleepys and check em out, there’s a plush one and a pillowtop one, just like the W, it’s the same thing as far as I know.
And I would suggest people to do what Dan did and get a plush mattress with a separate featherbed, that way you’re not locked into the pillowtop and can always get a new featherbed if it gets too soft/wears out.
With the pillow top you’re stuck with that top for life, even if the mattress is 100% great but the top gets too soft, you’re stuck.
@Shalom:
Thanks for the help.
Sleepys seems to have different versions of the Simmons Beautyrest. Do we know which version the W beds are?
@LA2NYC:
Hmm you’re right, seems they have a few. I think they also name them differently if you go into a store, it might be the World Class line if I remember correctly but I would try to ask around.
You can try calling a W hotel and see if they’re any help…but that’s a long shot.
Or if this http://www.sleepys.com/en/W-Hotels-Pillow-Top-Mattress_26751/ is the same thing as W has on their site, call sleepys and ask what the underlying brand is.
Does anyone have an opinion on their Extreme Signature bed?
Just thought I’d share my W mattress story. I bought two plush top mattresses but decided to go cheap on the boxsprings and frame and buy them elsewhere. Bad idea. The weight of the mattress was too much for the cheap support and we ended up left with horribly sagging mattresses and my wife and I had horrible back pains.
We tried to claim warranty and that was a joke. A frum guy in town who sells mattresses told me that it’s almost impossible to claim warranty on a mattress. He was right. Even though the guy who came for the claim was totally on my side to help, it was not use and our claim was denied.
We tried the W store and got no reaction. Then I tried a really sad sob story to the W store and after a long back and forth and an agreement to buy their box springs and frames, I had two new mattresses coming my way. However one of the new mattresses was junk and was sagging off the bat (but not bad enough to claim warranty), and not as bad as before. I followed up with the lady at the W store and she said she couldn’t exchange it again but could take it back for a refund. Well, with no other choice, I took the refund. When they came to deliver the new mattresses they were supposed to take the old ones but didn’t. On the scheduled day for pickup of the new mattress, I put one of the old mattress outside my door, and without knocking on my door, they picked that one up and left me with my two new mattresses. The refund hit my account a few days later. All seemed fine and dandy, since the sag wasn’t that bad, I was just upset that that’s how it was off the bat. However, two years later even with the correct boxsprings and rames, both my wife and I complain about our backs and went to a chiropractor and he said that it’s because of our mattresses that sag too much. If we had the money for it, we would be shopping for new mattresses right now. Overall I was really not impressed with these mattresses and when I went through my claim process with the W store I read a lot of similar stories of mattress that came sagging ever so slightly that ended up getting much worse too fast. If you do buy this, make sure you test it before they pull the plastic off of it and you sign for it. The delivery guys were always in a rush, but once you sign it’s on you so tell them to hold up. I have heard similar stories from others I know who bought as well. I know a few people who have the twin size and love it, and I’ve slept on it at their home and it was a lot more firm, so maybe the problem is more on the queen size.
Just thought it may be helpful to share the story
Just bought a king size plus bed to replace my queen size firm. My wife and I both agree that this is the bed mattress we’ve ever had and the first night we slept on it was one of the best sleeps of my life. Thanks for the heads up Dan!
which mattress would i buy when i have a 37″ box frame?
please help
So if I live in NY and try to get delivery to NJ to avoid the tax it will end up being such a hassle to get it over.
Not worth it unless someone has any creative ideas?
Maybe I can call to change the delivery location?
Any thoughts on box spring vs. low profile box spring? Other than height, is there a noticable difference?
@Brett: I have the queen and box spring for about two years. They are beyond comfortable, no back problems. I was always thinking why did I spend more for their box springs, but I guess they do keep the mattress balanced.
If you have a full bed frame I.e. Headboards and all, get the low profile one, as for us the full size box spring is *really* tall. You will need a separate stool to raise your neggel vaser 🙂
