Update, 5/16: This lounge is now open. If you visit it, please post a comment with your experience!

Bank branded lounges have become a required perk for high-end credit cards. AMEX started their own lounge network when American, Continental, and USAirways stopped allowing Platinum cardholders to access their lounges. Other banks are now trying to catch up with them.
Chase will open their first full service first domestic club, with the opening of the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Boston Logan International Airport.
That comes after the opening of a Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong and a Sapphire Terrace in Austin.
The 11,640 square foot lounge will open on Tuesday, May 16th. It is located in Boston’s Terminal B to C Connector, between gates B39 and B40.
One common problem with lounges is their relatively short hours. I flew back from Japan last week and the AMEX Centurion in San Francisco closed at 9pm, some 2 hours before my flight. That shouldn’t be an issue here as the Sapphire Lounge Boston will be open from 5am-11pm daily!
It will feature locally inspired artwork, food from local chefs, craft beer from Downeast, Wormtown, Castle Island and more, and coffee from Massachusetts’ based Atomic Coffee Roasters.
The design will include “micro-living rooms” instead of the typical sea of tables. There will also be rest pods, treatment rooms with anti-gravity massage chairs, a nursing room, a family room, shower rooms, and bathrooms featuring Apotheke products.
Access rules:
- Access is available within 3 hours of a departing flight, or for the duration of your connection. Access is not available upon arrival.
- Chase Sapphire Reserve® and JPMorgan Reserve cardholders can access the Chase Sapphire lounges as often as they want via their Priority Pass card with 2 guests at no charge. Additional guests cost $27 each and children under 2 are at no charge. Additional cardholders, which cost $75/year on those cards, can also access the Chase Sapphire lounges as often as they want via their Priority Pass card with 2 guests at no charge and the same price for additional guests.
- JPMorgan Ritz-Carlton cardholders can access the Chase Sapphire lounges as often as they want via their Priority Pass card with unlimited guests at no charge. Additional cardholders, which are free, can also access the Chase Sapphire lounges as often as they want via their Priority Pass card with unlimited guests at no charge.
- Chase Sapphire and Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card cardholders do not have Chase Sapphire lounge access.
- Priority Pass cardholders from non-Chase cards, such as from the AMEX Consumer Platinum Card, AMEX Business Platinum Card, Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card X, and other cards with Priority Pass will only be able to enter Sapphire lounges for free once per calendar year across the Sapphire lounge network. No free guests are included. Additional visits and guest visits will be charged $75 each, payable directly to the lounge.
Chase plans on opening additional Sapphire lounges in Las Vegas, LaGuardia, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, Washington/IAD and more.
If you visit the new Sapphire lounge in Boston, be sure to comment with your thoughts on it!

I have the venture x, but I might be getting the sapphire reserve as well for a year. My priority pass was issued from my venture x card. Will I be able to access this lounge?
When you get the reserve, they will send you another priority pass.
Chase Preferred Cardholders?
I asked Chase if CSP cardholders will have any way to access and will update when they respond.
Do CSP cardholders currently have access to the other 2 chase lounges?
Any idea on the ETA for the LGA lounge?
All I know is that it will be in Terminal B.
Aahh too bad, the Centurion Lounge is already in Terminal B, while other Terminals don’t have much…. have to wonder if that was the best move by Chase to compete with AMEX directly there, instead of going to another Terminal where they could have had more of the market to themselves?
One lounge visit per year or one visit to each lounge per year?
One per year total on non-Chase cards.
for now its 1 lounge in the US in boston (who ever goes there 😉 so no loss.
They plan on having a network that’s competitive with AMEX.
believe it when i see it
The leases are already signed on the ones mentioned in this post and Chase said there will be more than that coming.
There’s a lot of stopovers there. That’s the whole point of a lounge in my opinion.
Looks really upscale. The most crucial thing with lounges is access hours. The club ATL has the following language for Priority Pass:
OPENING HOURS
06:00 – 22:00 daily
Note: Access may be periodically restricted due to space constraints, in particular during the hours of 01:00 – 21:00 daily. :).
Not that club ATL is that great to begin with.
Unless you travel enough, access may be so sporadic it is not worth upgrading back to the Reserve.
Is it confirmed thepat Ritz Carlton card holders will get unlimited acess?
That’s what Chase told me.
thanks!
Does the Ritz only have 2 guests or unlimited? (Its showing in my chase app as a “SAPPHIRE Priority Pass”)
In general it has unlimited.
For this lounge, I was told 2 but nobody has actually tested it yet so let us know if you do. I’ll try to get more clarification on this one.
Does the priority pass available with the Hilton Aspire allow access?
It would go under the same category as AMEX Platinum.
Odd to go through PP. So will Chase be paying PP, or PP paying Chase for each guest 🙂
Yes 🙂
Any updates on the LGA lounge? Will make LGA new Terminal B an even better choice for flying from New York
If I have multiple cards that offer me PP, will that give me more than the once/yr access?
Yes, once per year with each, though no free guests allowed.
ouch no CSP
Flying Delta out of Terminal A next month and not familiar with this airport. Can I get to the this lounge between Terminals B and C without having to go through security again?
I have the same question! Can you update us when you find out?
No, B, C, and E are connected airside(post security). Terminal A which is Delta and a sublet gate to westjet is not connected to anything post security.
Now let’s see who’s going to be the first with a lounge in TLV.
As of now there are no lounge options when flying out of tlv. Is that correct?

From the local press
Is chase going to have kosher food in these lounges because that would be a game changer?
Does this lounge have kosher food?
do you need to have the card with you or can they look up account
CSP update?
The lounge is amazing, no kosher food yet.
There is plenty of space, showers, couches ect
I’m flying out if Boston today, any way to get in without my PP card if I have my CSR card with me?
Should work, let us know.
Bad news is my flight was delayed Almost four hours from 7:10 to 10:50 due to “bad weather” in Newark which was actually traffic control staff shortages.
The good news is I only went to the airport at 9 and I got into the lounge without my PP card!
The lady at the desk told me to open the chase app, go to book travel and scroll down to the CP lounges. When you click on any of them it shows your Card which she scanned and let me in! It was beautiful. No kosher food though except some chips/ They brought me out a packaged brownie which said they said was kosher but there was no symbol on it. I’m going to reach out to them to let them know it wasnt kosher, so they dont give it to other kosher travelers
At the lounge today- Unfortunately he only kosher food item in this lounge is a bag of potato chips.
