Lol MRE with kosher prices
Finally some dining options for the Cleveland area. Thanks Dan
LOL.
Been working to remedy that. Iy”h by year’s end that will be resolved. 🙂
Guess you have to hope Gog and Magog happens within three years!
Have these things EVER been used in history, like ever?? I don’t think people eat these unless they’re like, dying on the side of the road. And then it’s like “woops I forgot my EFC I guess it’s all over “
I’m actually curious to taste one. Just not $130 curious and I’m not enough of a doomsdayer to invest in it for that purpose.
Could be interesting for remote travel though if they’re decent enough. Or just do like I did and bring along 52 religious Jews to Antarctica in order to have quality food aboard instead of eating these or tuna for 2 weeks.
I remember that during the Iraq crisis, Jewish soldiers were deployed to US army bases in Germany, and the Jewish chaplains were quite busy organizing these meals for the Jewish troops.
They could even come in handy if stranded in a blizzard or something
Yes, Aerosvit used to serve these for kosher meals. Blech (that’s an exclamation, not a name)
Dan, have you or JJ tried these MRE’s? At $10 a meal per person survival will be quite expensive for large families.
You’ll have to choose your favorite child then
Menu 7: The “problem” child…..(Insert evil laugh here)
The child that tastes best?
Talk about a modest proposal…
If you try one let us know!
These are 1,000 calories per meal. A LA Briut meal for example when I checked was about 320 calories, so this is the value of 3+ of those meals.
Is it better than Stogel shelf meals?
These are actually made for the military, and FYI, Hermolis actually makes more military meals than airplane meals!
Sorry, not military, prisons, but nonetheless these meals are use very often
why doesnt menu 3 and 4 have mango?
I had something like these in the army. They’re enough to get you to the next meal but if you have them one after another your stomach won’t forgive you.
These look tastier than the extended-life “meal” that I was served on LOT (TLV-WAW) 4 years ago. Literally the first and only airplane meal I could not eat. (And I’ll eat almost anything!)
Stogel long life meals. Sadly becoming more common on flights around Europe. Truly awful.
Thanks, but I’ll pass. If things get that bad, I’m pretty good with peanut butter on matza – with jelly for Shabbos.
Any frum soldier deployed would have experience with these.
There have been numerous frum soldiers deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan over the past 2 decades.
