Daily Getaways is back, but for the 2nd year in a row, it looks like a bust.
The whole program will only have 10 sales, compares to several times that pre-COVID.
Here is what will be for sale this year:
- On 7/18 you can buy IHG points for 0.5 cents each. Or you can just buy them from IHG for the same sale price right now.
- On 7/19 you can buy Accor/Fairmont certificates, but the quantities are extremely limited, with only 17 available between 4 different offers, these are sure to sell out instantly. Note that these aren’t only valid at the listed properties, I’ll try to write more about these before they go on sale.
- On 7/20 you can buy Hilton points for 0.5 cents each. Hilton runs this sale themselves several times per year, so there’s no need to lock in now. Plus you can always transfer points from AMEX to Hilton at a 1:2 or better ratio.
- On 7/21 you can buy Wyndham points for 1.17 cents each. Wyndham often sells points for less than this directly, so that’s not a deal. And you can always transfer points from Citi or Capital One to Wyndham at a 1:1 ratio.
- On 7/22 you can buy Best Western points for 0.55 cents each if that’s your thing.
- On 7/25 you can buy discounted Universal Orlando tickets, but there are just 40 ticket packages, 5 vacation packages, and 4 VIP packages available.
- On 7/26 you can buy Choice Privileges Points for 0.52-0.6 cents each. That’s a decent price, but you can always transfer points from Citi to Choice at a 1:2 ratio without having to lock into the purchase now.
- On 7/27 you can buy Marriott gift cards for 20% off. This is probably the best deal of the bunch, but we’ve seen Marriott directly sell their gift cards for 10-20% off, plus those qualify for $300 annual reimbursement with the Marriott Brilliant card, at least until that options gets Bonvoyed in September.
- On 7/28 you can buy 3 nights in a Venetian or Palazzo suite, but there will be just 15 of each for sale.
- On 7/29 you can buy Hyatt points for 1.2-1.32 cents each. That’s a solid deal, but there are just 16 packages for sale. You can always transfer points from Chase to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio.
In the past you had at least a fighting chance of landing a Hyatt points deal, such as 100 packages in this previous version of the deal, with points effectively costing 0.9 cents each:
With so few packages on sale, it’s more of a sweepstakes than a sale. And with program devaluations, it’s not nearly as good of a deal as it used to be.
Daily Getaways from Avis and Hertz would be lucrative given high car rental prices, but while those were always offered annually pre-COVID, they haven’t been offered since the pandemic.

What a joke. How is less than 20 packages for most sale items even something they bother putting on their website?
RIP.
Was waiting to purchase discounted seaworld tickets.
I thought this runs through August 12th and they are only showing the first two weeks in the preview?
No, I confirmed with them that these are all the deals they are offering this year.
Waiting on the Fairmont post, if it’s worthwhile to buy.
