No, it can’t. Canon requires you to make a deep cut in the outer box to take out the UPC code. The returns counter will notice instantly that it is missing. (If this were Costco, it may have been possible, as they sometimes accept returns without the box).

Just a little warning. ALL the cartridges for this puppy run about 90-100$, and there aren’t really any third party options yet. GREAT images though.

The ink is not expansive at all.

I had one and dumped it cause of ink price.
te worst part is if you use black and white and no color the color cartridges do dry and need to be changed.
the off brands kill the machine
off brand ink DOES kill the printer. Have 2 living proofs sitting in my basement.
B&H rebate has it for $200 with out paper and $300 with paper. and B&H is giving you the paper for free>>>>>

FYI this is a heaviest printer ever. the box weighted over 50 lbs … i just lugged it into B&H and returned it… I don’t know anything about the printer except that it’s huge.
